Re: SW shut out of SW

(...) I feel your pain. I took my nephew on a tour of retail establishments searching for SW sets. Eventually, we did find a few snowspeeders and speederbikes in one store. Pretty frustrating. :-/ -- Terry K -- BTW, If that LIC _does_ get some more (...) (25 years ago, 26-Mar-99, to lugnet.loc.us.mn.msp, lugnet.starwars)

  SW shut out of SW

As promised, my report: As I was running errands this morning, I personally checked out three Targets and TRU Bloomington. Targets Richfield, Edina, and St. Louis had *no* SW sets, as did not TRU. After "strike four", I was feeling like I really (...) (25 years ago, 25-Mar-99, to lugnet.loc.us.mn.msp, lugnet.starwars)

Re: Star Wars LEGO sighting at Target

Zoinks! I will check out Target St. Louis Park, Richfield, and Edina tomorrow and report...whether I left any for the rest of you guys;-) [1] [1] Actually, I already got mine from the LIC -John (...) (25 years ago, 25-Mar-99, to lugnet.loc.us.mn.msp)

Star Wars LEGO sighting at Target

Greetings, I dunno if this is old news but looks like the Star Wars LEGO sets are finally going to be available everywhere-I bought mine this morning at the Target Greatland store in Maplewood (they put the sets out after closing last night) (25 years ago, 24-Mar-99, to lugnet.loc.us.mn.msp)

Re: Twin Cities LEGO minifest 033099

Sadly (or maybe not so sadly) I will be in Florida during our first mini Legofest.[1] I propose, however, a monthly or bi-monthly meeting to get together. A mid-May affair sounds good; I'm toast for June, but July is good. We still are up in the air (...) (25 years ago, 23-Mar-99, to lugnet.loc.us.mn.msp)

Re: Twin Cities LEGO minifest 033099

(...) So who else is going? What faces will I finally get to put to names? So what is the traffic like from 5 to 6 pm on 35W? Everybody is bringing stuff to show off I hope. I'll bring a box of six wide fire trucks. And John Neal, if you show up, I (...) (25 years ago, 23-Mar-99, to lugnet.loc.us.mn.msp)

  Twin Cities LEGO minifest 033099

Greetings, A group of us are getting together for a Twin Cities LEGO minifest on Tuesday March 30th starting at 6:00 pm. at the University Lutheran Chapel, located at 1101 University Avenue S.E., Minneapolis MN in Dinkytown. It is 2 blocks east of (...) (25 years ago, 23-Mar-99, to lugnet.loc.us.mn.msp)

Re: Greater Midwest LEGO Train Club (GMLTC)

Hi All, A couple shows ago we had a 60+ car train with two front puller engines and a pusher engine at the tail. We had to be a bit careful not to "pop a knuckle" (that makes me smile to say that) but with that kind of load the engines had a real (...)   Re: Greater Midwest LEGO Train Club (GMLTC)

John is more modest than he needs to be. The lift bridge is operational, just not for extended periods. :) It is a very graceful lift with LEGO motors basically crawling up the towers. We took pictures with it in the up and down positions at the (...) (25 years ago, 16-Mar-99, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.general, lugnet.loc.us.mn.msp)

Re: Two train layouts (wasRe: Greater Midwest LEGO Train Club (GMLTC)

A minor correction... (...) It was John Neal who thought of it first. I just jumped on the bandwagon. :-) I bet that kid is pretty enthused now. Way to go. As to shows, John Neal told me that they won an award voted on by the public for favorite (...) (25 years ago, 16-Mar-99, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.general, lugnet.loc.us.mn.msp)

Two train layouts (wasRe: Greater Midwest LEGO Train Club (GMLTC)

In response to Larry's desire with Ben's second to see **2** LEGO train layouts at the same show, PNLTC did a small (last minute) show -- with a hasty display -- on March 7th at which there was indeed two separate groups each with its own display. (...) (25 years ago, 16-Mar-99, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.general, lugnet.loc.us.mn.msp)

Re: Greater Midwest LEGO Train Club (GMLTC)

(...) I'd rather see them combined! Both layouts are modular. GMLTC has more modules under construction. What's needed are two relatively simple transition modules since GMLTC and PNLTC modules are built to different standards. Then, connect the (...)   Re: Greater Midwest LEGO Train Club (GMLTC)

Now that's an idea! The GMLTC layout would fit very nicely in the middle of a PNLTC display. Actually, probably best not a good idea since the crowd may run our layout over trying to get a good look at the masterful creation GMLTC has created. I (...)   Re: Greater Midwest LEGO Train Club (GMLTC)

A fantastic time was had by all, especially me. I was particularly impressed with the layout's ease of set-up and break-down-- each in about an hour! 'Course, if I hear "How many Legos (sic) did it take to build this?" or "How much did all of these (...) (25 years ago, 15-Mar-99, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.general, lugnet.loc.us.mn.msp)

Re: March Twin Cities minifest anyone?

Well... I am off to CA from the 18th through the 28th so I can't be there on the 25th, I will be at Disneyland. We will be at LL on opening day. However things are looking good for my project to extend at least into April. People should feel free to (...) (25 years ago, 15-Mar-99, to lugnet.loc.us.mn.msp)

  March Twin Cities minifest anyone?

Greetings, I know a trip to Carlsbad won't be happening anytime soon for me but would still love to meet with other AFOL. Anyone interested in a Twin Cities minifest while Larry P is still in town?
