  Re: NMRA 2000 Successful

Thank you, James. Your station was obviously an influence on mine and when I add to the interior, I am sure the similarities will be more obvious. In fact, I was about 80% done with a replica of your station when I decided that I was more into (...) (24 years ago, 9-Aug-00, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.loc.us.ca.sf, lugnet.org.us.baylug)

  Re: NMRA 2000 Successful

Wonderful pictures. I was especially attracted to the incredibly large white and glass train station! (URL) certainly dwarfs my station of a similar design. Amazing piece count of pieces that I consider somewhat "rare". I hope I catch future (...) (24 years ago, 8-Aug-00, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.loc.us.ca.sf, lugnet.org.us.baylug)

I am down with pins for both BayLUG abd BayLTC and would buy 2 of both. As for shirts with screening or embroidery, strangely enough I would be willing to get a t-shirt AND a embroidered button up.   Re: NMRA show (the first of many?)

(...) I think at the last GATS show we asked for and received $400. (Some shows also have competition between the layouts, with prize money for the winners.) We asked for the money guaranteed, and were still eligible for the prize money. Other shows (...) (24 years ago, 8-Aug-00, to lugnet.loc.us.ca.sf, lugnet.org.us, lugnet.trains.org)

Re: NMRA show (the first of many?)

(...) 1000 is definitely way too much, at this point. I think GMLTC typically looked for some amount that would cover the expenses (gas, budget lodging if it was a long way away from MSP, etc.)... 100 seems reasonable, maybe a bit more. I'd ask GATS (...) (24 years ago, 8-Aug-00, to lugnet.loc.us.ca.sf, lugnet.org.us, lugnet.trains.org)

RE: NMRA show (the first of many?)

How much is a reasonable amount? $100 $1000? It would be nice if we looked more formal with skirt, large banner sign, maybe roped off build area. Use fee to buy skirt, etc? Mark (...) (24 years ago, 8-Aug-00, to lugnet.loc.us.ca.sf, lugnet.org.us, lugnet.trains.org)

  RE: your schedule?

I'm working in Mt. View, now at the Silicon Valley Campus (1065 La Avenida, in Building 1, the center of the campus) I can bring them in Wednesday or Thursday.   RE: Booth monitors (look and feel)

Actually, John Neal ("J-2") ( johnneal@uswest.net ) is the GMLTC person to contact. He runs a tshirt screening business out of his home, and has contacts for embroidering shirts. He could probably give you estimated costs, timeframes, etc... I think (...) (24 years ago, 8-Aug-00, to lugnet.loc.us.ca.sf)

  Booth monitors (look and feel)

Tom McDonald reminds me of another point; When you are in the middle of a layout, folks presume that you are in charge...but when you are on the outside, it is easy for visitors to think other club members are 'just visitors' when we're all dressed (...)   A Really Nice Day

I just wanted to say that I thought the layout at NMRA was very exciting. My wife and I came down for the day just to see BayLUG/BayLTC's setup. It was a real treat getting the chance to see a big layout in action. Congrats to all that helped make (...) (24 years ago, 9-Aug-00, to lugnet.loc.us.ca.sf)
