  Re: Rose Parade Float

Speaking of typos... "I see a coloredful drawing at the URL above but no picture." Coloredful??? As in past tense of being full of color? Hehehe Got you... (...) Sounds great! Anyone have any real pictures? I see a coloredful drawing at the URL above but no picture. --Todd [added lugnet.legoland.california & lugnet.loc.us.ca.la.pas to crosspost list] (25 years ago, 3-Jan-00, to lugnet.general, lugnet.legoland.california, lugnet.loc.us.ca.la.pas)

  Re: Rose Parade Float

(...) I was there in person (wow it was cold this year!) and I must say that it was impressive. It wasn't the best float (hopefully they do better next year) but it was pretty cool to see LEGO in the rose parade. The front part had a floral (...)   Re: Slim Pickings at Target

(...) The Wal-Marts here have the Advent calendars marked down to $10, much better than their typical ~33% off clearance prices. Steve (25 years ago, 28-Dec-99, to lugnet.market.shopping, lugnet.loc.us.ca.sf)

  Re: Slim Pickings at Target

(...) I think that's the chainwide price for these (subject to local option). I cleaned out my local store of these, 5 cents a piece is not too shabby for a parts assortment that includes several trans 2x2 medium slopes. (25 years ago, 28-Dec-99, to lugnet.market.shopping, lugnet.loc.us.ca.sf)

  Re: Slim Pickings at Target

(...) This afternoon at Target Bridgepointe (San Mateo, CA), I found several Advent calendars marked down to $11.90, a few 5978s at $26.90, and one 5533 at $29.90 No other Lego was marked down. Paul Sinasohn (25 years ago, 28-Dec-99, to lugnet.market.shopping, lugnet.loc.us.ca.sf)

  Our Targets SUCK!!!

I visited FOUR Targets today, and NONE of them had the 4561 on sale (even though one had about THIRTY of them). It looks like someone in the Regional office, in their infinite STUPIDITY, decided not to offer them at 40% off, even though most stores (...) (25 years ago, 27-Dec-99, to lugnet.loc.us.ca.sf)

Re: NMRA San Jose in Y2K

Yeah, I can bring track, trains, maybe some buildings, but I just don't know if I'll have the spare bricks/money to build a proper module. Is there a web page online for tips for building modules? Do they HAVE to be all Lego except the base, or can (...) (25 years ago, 23-Dec-99, to lugnet.loc.us.ca.sf, lugnet.trains)

Re: NMRA San Jose in Y2K

(...) I agree. We should start planning immediately. (...) Since I don't have the time or money to build my own modules, I'm willing to help out a few weekends building them. Russell (25 years ago, 22-Dec-99, to lugnet.loc.us.ca.sf, lugnet.trains)

Re: NMRA San Jose in Y2K

I'm in for helping, Mike, but I'll have to deflect until I get back from the UK at the start of February. Let's do some planning at the next BAYLUG meeting about this.... I'm willing to drive 2 or 3 others down to Fresno for a some weekends of (...) (25 years ago, 22-Dec-99, to lugnet.loc.us.ca.sf, lugnet.trains)

  2k Sets

Lots of 2k sets at Target on Hamilton in San Jose. I went this morning and picked up the Gungan Patrol (7115) and the A-Wing Fighter (7134). Just for some fun. And now I don't want to do any work. They also had the Boba Fett Slave (7144), Desert (...) (25 years ago, 21-Dec-99, to lugnet.loc.us.ca.sf)

  2000 Lego at Target Cupertino

Last night I saw lots of 2000 Lego at Target in Cupertino on Stevens Creek (cross Street DeAnza). I managed to get out of there with only an A-Wing (which turned out to actually be quite a good set). They have all the Star Wars sets, some castle (...) (25 years ago, 21-Dec-99, to lugnet.loc.us.ca.sf)

2K Lego at Mt View Target

I found the 8520 Millenium Slizer, some other Technic set, and the small catapult castle set, that's it - they obviously had more, but the TINY Lego section is half bare, and will probably be completely empty by Friday. Nothing at the Mt View (...) (25 years ago, 21-Dec-99, to lugnet.loc.us.ca.sf)
