www.uklug.org.uk is in dire need of update and overhaul. Simon's page design
is an acquired taste :-)
Your pages are now at a pretty good standard and I would be glad to see you
take over the role. (as long as you use a spelling & grammar checker :-) )

I am not sure where one does whois enquiries for .org.uk domains, so can't
tell when it expires, but I *think* Simon has it hosted by freenetnames.com.
Is Simon around these days?
In any case, setting up another site, as you no doubt know, costs about £20
p.a. -- £10 for the domain name, and £10 for a year's hosting. There even be
cheaper options...

please?
It is not done in HTML or FTP, but another markup language (FTX) and
different upload method. It's all pretty easy, I think, and documented
somewhere here (but I can't find it ATM)
It ties you down to a very specific page layout, which might not be suitable
for what you have in mind. However, it is free...
If it is the way to go, Todd can set you up as a publisher.
