it's also available in the UK shop, price 80GBP.

We've now seen three of these large scale dealiethings.

Does a third of these indicate success of the first two ?
Maybe they think Eric.H and Henry.L are typical AFOLs. More research would
indicate that most of us use lots of specialised elements in our MOCS.

I wonder how well they are doing? That is, what are the goals of these, is
it opportunistic sales (do it because they're relatively easy to develop and
since they use mostly basic bricks, relatively low cost production),
something to build brand awareness (these would tend to get displayed, I
would think) or something else entirely?

Basic bricks would be cheaper for small production runs, because surely they
are not selling thousands of these things.

Myself, they kind of leave me cold. But I don't have space to display
everything I would want to display even from my own designs, much less my
current collection, and I don't see them as an economical source of bulk.

Same here. Now if they used rare or new colours, they would appeal to bulk
brick buyers who cannot access these in numbers (eg. S of L).
If I wanted to build something this size, I would have a go at doing one of my
own design.
