I find TRU can yield an occasional bargin. Here in Toronto I came across a few
good deals at TRU.
I picked up the Technic 3038 [CyberSlam Spider attack?] for 38$ CDN [ about 25
to 30$ US].. it was opened but everything was intact in their plastic bags.
I'm not crazy about Cyberslam but this was too good of a deal to pass up
considering it had a technic 9V motor kit IN IT. That blew me away. I also
noted the 8239 was on sale at half off, IMO not worth it at retail but at half
off its a good deal since it has the small technic parts case.
On other note I came across my first true "lego find"... a sealed 8857 chopper
bike. The box was really worn but not suprising since its been kicking around
a shelf for a good number of years... I picked it up along with a newer 5533
and ran to the checkout.
Now if I can find a black cat rig in a store somewhere I'd be happy... the
US/canadian exchange kills my chances of picking one up from ebay or dealers..
at least at the moment.

| (...) True, the TRU in Dufferin Mall (?) had lots of Fort LEGOredo for $50+tax (~£25) a while back, along with some generally older looking stuff. If only on that trip I hadn't already sacrificed too many clothes - suitcase and backpack full of (...) (25 years ago, 8-Feb-00, to lugnet.loc.uk, lugnet.loc.ca.on.tor)
