  Re: McArthur Glen Designer Outlet

The Kids Play Factory was in the one in Wales. The other branches probably have different toy shops. Were there any good offers in Cheshire? It is supposed to be 30%-50% off or something. -- Liam. (URL) (26 years ago, 18-Oct-99, to lugnet.loc.uk)

Re: Busy Bee - in the flesh

(...) Wow, almost seems like Busy Bee caters to AFOLs instead of just mindlessly marketing to what they think children want... (26 years ago, 18-Oct-99, to lugnet.general, lugnet.loc.uk)

Busy Bee - in the flesh

Well having been intrigued by all the talk of Busy Bee I decided I was curious enough to see what the shop was really like. So on the way back from shopping in Manchester on Saturday I and a couple of friends took a detour and called in. You'd never (...) (26 years ago, 18-Oct-99, to lugnet.general, lugnet.loc.uk)

Re: So explain to me why Lego UK dont do trains!

Hi Lawrence While I sympathise with your sentiments, it's not true that Lego are somehow pulling out of trains in the UK, as you imply. For a very long time, the train selection in the UK has been more modest than across the Channel - I'd guess (...) (26 years ago, 18-Oct-99, to lugnet.loc.uk)

I saw a single Blue Turbo in TRU in Southampton yesterday - I think it was £95. They also had the new 'millennium Slizer' which was £15 -- Colin numbersix@freshfroot...erve.co.uk www.freshfruit.swinternet.co.uk ICQ 25808282 David Graham (...) (26 years ago, 17-Oct-99, to lugnet.loc.uk)

Re: So explain to me why Lego UK dont do trains!

I was in Amsterdam on holiday (partly to buy the '99 train range) and noted the difference between the UK and the Netherlands. It is not just LEGO trains that are not just popular there, all toys and trains are. Trains and LEGO are all declining in (...) (26 years ago, 17-Oct-99, to lugnet.loc.uk)

  York Lego report

York is a very fine historical city, but totally devoid of good Lego. Only one toyshop in the City Centre (Toymaster) which had only current top-dollar offerings. TRU at the ubiquitous retail park was much the same. The only sets worthy of even the (...) (26 years ago, 17-Oct-99, to lugnet.loc.uk)

(...) Alan is correct. This piece came out in 1962 with LEGO Wheels. I have a European Wheel set #314 (from 1962) that has two of these.
