Wow, this is looking great!  I really appreciate all the effort you guys • are
putting into this!

I have a technical question about something:  Some of the vowels are
double-byte with accent symbols following the character, for example:

viene fornito come un sistema di "salvataggio e inoltro" "cosi` com'e`"
senza filtri, il che significa che potresti trovare materiale che • ritieni
offensivo.  E' TUA SOLA RESPONSABILITA` VERIFICARE O FILTRARE

and others are actual single-byte ISO-8859-1 (Latin-1) 8-bit characters:

inapplicabile, detta clausola sarà considerata esclusa dall'accordo
senza che ciò influisca sulla validità e l'applicabilità delle • rimanenti

The latter (single-byte characters) are what the FTX page-engine wants as
input.  I can convert  o` ==> ò  and  E' ==> É  when the text is • finalised,
but I'd have to be sure that what I was doing was correct.  Is there any
technical difference between the two or are the two-character forms easier
for editing when you write the draft?

Hi Todd,

yes you can convert the vowels to single charcters, that's the proper way to
write them in Italian. The two bytes form is the form we used when ASCII set
didn't allow single accented characters. There are six accented vowels in
Italian: à, ò, ì, ù, è, é. As you see the "e" has two possible accents, but
you may use always the "è" form like most of the Italians do. The difference
is not as relevant as in French, won't affect the meaning in any way and
will probably disappear very soon.

Ciao
Mario
