I have a technical question about something: Some of the vowels are
double-byte with accent symbols following the character, for example:

The latter (single-byte characters) are what the FTX page-engine wants as
input. I can convert o` ==> ò and E' ==> É when the text is finalised,
but I'd have to be sure that what I was doing was correct. Is there any
technical difference between the two or are the two-character forms easier
for editing when you write the draft?

| (...) are (...) ritieni (...) rimanenti (...) finalised, (...) Hi Todd, yes you can convert the vowels to single charcters, that's the proper way to write them in Italian. The two bytes form is the form we used when ASCII set didn't allow single (...) (24 years ago, 17-Aug-00, to lugnet.loc.it)
