  Re: Canada Lego Fest ideas

(...) Unless another group desperately wanted to do it, sure, I suppose we could do it. Actually, I should better say I am willing. I am unsure if others in rtlToronto would be interested in helping. I think Chris would be interested, as long as he (...) (23 years ago, 20-Aug-01, to lugnet.loc.ca, lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto, lugnet.org.ca.monlug, lugnet.org.ca.parlugment)

  Re: Canada Lego Fest ideas

(...) So does this mean you are willing to host it or would you prefer Ottawa? (...) I would hope we could get some AFOLs from down east, including the Newfies. :-) Perhaps some people from south of the border. (...) We could share some of the (...)   Re: Canada Lego Fest ideas

Realisticly, We are goping to have to organize two different festivals. One east and one west. If possible, schedule them different weekends so those who can, can attend both. Jude (...) (23 years ago, 20-Aug-01, to lugnet.loc.ca)

  Re: Canada Lego Fest ideas

(...) I agree that Toronto or SF for that matter is pretty far from Calgary. Considering the drive, it's probably best to get a flight. But as for being just another rtlToronto meeting, I suppose that's true, it's another event in Toronto, probably (...)   Re: Canada Lego Fest ideas

(...) Like me! (Not that I'm shy about it, though. ;) (...) Unfortunately for us in the west, Ontario is the demographic middle of Canada, even if it's kilted 1/3 of the way east geographically. Like you, this means that I'd be pretty unlikely to (...) (23 years ago, 20-Aug-01, to lugnet.loc.ca)

Re: Heads up: Vision Command Sale

(...) Thanks, guys. I was thinking it might be just an input to the RCX like the other sensors, but it seems like just a webcam. I think I'll pass, then... I also use Windows 2000, which I understand will be a problem? I have one of Future Shop's (...) (23 years ago, 20-Aug-01, to lugnet.loc.ca)

  Re: Canada Lego Fest ideas

I've expanded this thread into local.canada in hopes of more Canadians to voice their opinion. Toronto (or anywhere else in Ontario actually) is quite the distance from Calgary, where I am. It is about 2700 km from Calgary to Toronto, which is a (...) (23 years ago, 20-Aug-01, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto, lugnet.org.ca.monlug, lugnet.org.ca.parlugment, lugnet.loc.ca)

Re: Heads up: Vision Command Sale

(...) Yes, it is. In fact it doesn't use the RCX at all. It plugs into your computer via a 5m cable (USB) and the software for it runs on your desktop. You can optionally send commands to an RCX (if you have one) to change direction depending on (...) (23 years ago, 17-Aug-01, to lugnet.loc.ca)

  Re: Canadian Lurkers

(...) Well, I don't think I'm a lurker either, but if you're in the GTA or Southern Ontario Area, come and meet up with us in rtlToronto, one of the larger and most active LUGs in the world. Check out the newsgroup: (URL) the website: (URL) (...) (23 years ago, 19-Aug-01, to lugnet.loc.ca)

  Re: Canadian Lurkers

Well, I guess it’s my turn… My name is Kim Kates and I've only posted a few times before. I enjoy Lego because I find it to be an intellectualists pursuit of creativity through the exploration of play. I'm also the only AFOL currently located up (...) (23 years ago, 19-Aug-01, to lugnet.loc.ca)

  Re: ///Looking for Mr. Tsang’s house\\\

(...) Check it out: (URL) notice a house for Tsang, as well as Elliott. A lot of the names aren't really posting anymore-it's more the rec.toys.lego set that's on this page. Some names I don't see very often include Gail Meagher, Lou Zucaro, Joshua (...) (23 years ago, 19-Aug-01, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto, lugnet.loc.ca)

///Looking for Mr. Tsang’s house\\\ I'm still lookin’ for that “Calum House” that you mentioned Calum. I think it’d be cool to see who the other Lugnet original are as well!   Re: Canadian Lurkers

(...) True, but that means you can get a lot of old sets there generally. I know there's still Adventurers (Egypt) on the shelves, and it's not uncommon to still find 6280 Pirate Ships as well. KDJ ___...___ LUGNETer #203, Windsor, Ontario, Canada (23 years ago, 18-Aug-01, to lugnet.loc.ca)

  RE: Canadian Lurkers

Hello, This thread has the feel of an AA meeting....I'm Bob from Kitchener and I'm an AFOL. I post occasionally but usually just relating to Zellers sales...by the way the sale at Sears last Saturday was a dud (door crasher 25% off)...their prices (...) (23 years ago, 18-Aug-01, to lugnet.loc.ca)

  Re: Canadian Lurkers

(...) Heh. Just don't do what a friend of mine did on a cross-country trip. "Hi Aunt (name)! I'm at the Tim Horton's down the street, can I come and visit you?" <grin> James - definately not lurking (23 years ago, 17-Aug-01, to lugnet.loc.ca)

  Re: Canadian Lurkers

(...) Especially seeking Newfoundland lurkers... I'm out here on my own as far as I know. It's a long swim to the nearest AFOLs in Halifax! I wonder if 'province' could be shown in the member pages for us the same way 'state' is for the US? Cheers, (...) (23 years ago, 17-Aug-01, to lugnet.loc.ca, lugnet.loc.ca.nf)

  Re: Canadian Lurkers

I have been lurking, I am Canadian, but I live in Idaho. I have been reading the posts because I am going to the Toronto area to visit my cousins ( and Aunts & Uncles) in two weeks. I haven't seen some of them for almost 20 years. Rose "Adam Murtha" (...) (23 years ago, 17-Aug-01, to lugnet.loc.ca)

  Re: Canadian Lurkers

Dean, you're not a lurker, neither is Bryan, but that's okay. :) But you were thinking the same thing I was, to draft new people into their local LUG, if they are willing, of course. And I will name names to bring out the ones who guilty of lurking! (...) (23 years ago, 17-Aug-01, to lugnet.loc.ca)
