FOTW - Road N rail hauler, Club car, Crocodile Loco —Santosh Bhat
Hey guys, Just got back from Parklea Markets. Was on the mission to purchase some nuts and dried apricots, wehn i was going past a trader selling toys. Using my super-human vision, I was able to spot the Lego symbol. To cut it short. This is what (...) (25 years ago, 29-Apr-00, to lugnet.loc.au)

(...) Excellent find Santosh. I thought places like Parklea would be useless, especially for any trains. What sort of other goods did the guy carry, I mean in general, not just a Lego sense. I have a 4551, but I'm sure someone local will want it (at (...) (25 years ago, 29-Apr-00, to lugnet.loc.au)

The dealer said that he used to own a toy store but had to close down. They did have one or two other smaller sets, but i didn't really note them down as my attention was elsewhere. But you know the standard range of crappy plastic toys, but there (...) (25 years ago, 29-Apr-00, to lugnet.loc.au)

Supertoys (Gosford) and others (usually so-called educational toystores with enigmatic names) defend their (...) (25 years ago, 29-Apr-00, to lugnet.loc.au)

Maybe i should draft up a letter to LA to find out what the actual stand on excess older stock is. I mean i could write it up from the perspective of a possible distributor. Maybe the Excess stock is a reason for why LA is moving to only getting (...) (25 years ago, 29-Apr-00, to lugnet.loc.au)

(...) Please give it a go, the worst that could happen is nil response. A couple of questions for Australians.... Has anyone found old stock appearing at a toy shop, I mean one that you would normally frequent and have a good idea at what the limits (...) (25 years ago, 29-Apr-00, to lugnet.loc.au)

(...) Nice find.. you should definintely buy up the other croc, someone in Oz surely will want it. Or if not, sell it for loads of cash on eBay... (...) Why? Not that someone won't want it locally, but why not sell it wherever? ++Lar (25 years ago, 30-Apr-00, to lugnet.loc.au)

        Crocodile Loco —Santosh Bhat
I've sent these overseas where there were some considerable hassles from both sending and receiving ends :(. So I'm not too keen on sending it immediately overseas. Ok here's what I'll do. If someone within Australia wants it, please let me know by (...) (25 years ago, 30-Apr-00, to lugnet.loc.au)

(...) In our small yet growing AFOL community we like to give each other tips on what's about and first offer on it (the non-lurkers anyway). Maybe it's the Lego situation in Australia, ie high retail prices, less of the range available, less (...) (25 years ago, 30-Apr-00, to lugnet.loc.au)

Having said that, I did a round of Vinnies on Saturday morning (11 stores all up in the inner west) and all that it yielded was a shopping bag full of Duplo. A few of the stores said they had (...)      (...) If it has 2x4's and Rachel or Kaz don't want it, I'll take it. I want to use the Duplo 2x4's to do some mountain-base building and top off with Lego. pete.w (25 years ago, 1-May-00, to lugnet.loc.au)

(...) No, makes perfect sense to me! I support giving people good deals, but what I would hate to see is the set left in the store because no one local spoke up for it. It's too rare and valuable to let some random mundane get it and feed the pieces (...) (25 years ago, 30-Apr-00, to lugnet.loc.au)

Re: FOTW - Road N rail hauler, Club car, Crocodile Loco —Santosh Bhat
Well, there is no way that the set will be left lying around with the trader. I've already got two of these now so I don't feel the need for one more, which is why I'm letting it known that one is available (otherwise I would've kept it for myself). (...)
