Re: Governor's Ship - what is it?

(...) The only two ships with soldier crews (not pirate) were 6271 Imperial Flagship (Red) and 6274 Caribbean Clipper (Blue). My guess would be 6271, but why not just ring the seller up and ask! In good nick, $A50 would be pretty good. I am not an (...) (25 years ago, 7-Aug-00, to lugnet.loc.au)

RE: Governor's Ship - what is it?

The governor [Governor Broadside] was the officer in charge of the Blue Soldiers in the original Pirates. his replacement was an Admiral [I can't remember his name off-hand] who commanded the red Marines/Navy. So the set should be 6274. The problem (...) (25 years ago, 7-Aug-00, to lugnet.loc.au)

Governor's Ship - what is it?

I saw an advert in the Courier-Mail on Saturday that said: LEGO GOVERNERS SHIP with figures complete with box, fully assembled, excellent condition $50. Being of an idle and curious disposition, I tried to find the set on LUGnet but failed to find (...) (25 years ago, 7-Aug-00, to lugnet.loc.au)

  RE: LegOz 2000.8

Just thought I'd better let you know there's a LegOz on October 8 in Vic[1], so if you're after that date, then we're LegOz 2000.8, and you're LegOz 2000.9. It might be a good idea to work out which you are and which we are :) [1] It was announced (...) (25 years ago, 7-Aug-00, to lugnet.loc.au)

  LegOz 2000.8 - BrikWars

Since we seemed to stress the fabric of BrikWars with a 250+ fig battle (regardless, nice work James Howse, Gamemaster and Grand Wizard of Probability) we did think a little on how this might go better. IIRC, the plan is something like: Medieval (...) (25 years ago, 7-Aug-00, to lugnet.loc.au)

  Re: Pricing on Lego Sets

(...) Whereas what I'd like to see would be one base price across the world, with realistic country by country prices, and S@H making it explicit how much above the base price is due to shipping costs to that country, and how much above the base (...)   RE: Help wanted with old UK catalogue [long and contains most tex t/in fo from it.]

Okay...You asked for it. Here's the complete text from the 1969 catalogue :) [I'm guessing it's another UK catalogue that could be collected at toyshops, but confirmation would be nice.] (URL) 2 BASIC SETS Because Basic Sets contain balanced (...)   Re: New newsgroup lugnet.sports for Football/Soccer

FIFA stands for (excuse my spelling) Federation International Football Association I think. If not it's something similiar. If an international organization calls it football, then one would assume it is called football in most countries, right? (...) (25 years ago, 7-Aug-00, to lugnet.sports, lugnet.loc.au)

  RE: Pricing on Lego Sets

G'day, I'm not trying to start any cross continent flame wars...just trying to show people they're not as badly off as they seem to think. [and want others to think...I'm sure there are places worse off than Australia, too.] I wouldn't mind it so (...) (25 years ago, 7-Aug-00, to lugnet.general, lugnet.loc.au, lugnet.org.au)

  Re: Pricing on Lego Sets

(...) Don't worry, I do. We have exchange students ask us why we can't just drive down to Disney World (in FL, 1000 M from our house) for the weekend, so I know where you're coming from. Don't fault me for thinking Melbourne is close to Sydney, (...) (25 years ago, 7-Aug-00, to lugnet.general, lugnet.loc.au, lugnet.org.au)

  Re: Pricing on Lego Sets

People frequently don't appreciate the distances involved in this country. The only chance you can argue this one with Ben over a beer, is by long distance call. Box hill is a suburb of Melbourne, Melbourne is about 1000km's south of Sydney. Though (...) (25 years ago, 7-Aug-00, to lugnet.general, lugnet.loc.au, lugnet.org.au)

  Re: Pricing on Lego Sets

(...) And it always amazes me that you bring this up again and again! :-) Look, the fact that you're paying 3x what some sets are worth doesn't make the fact that the US is paying 2x what the same sets are worth any less bad. Instead of trying to (...) (25 years ago, 7-Aug-00, to lugnet.general, lugnet.loc.au, lugnet.org.au)

  RE: Pricing on Lego Sets

  LegOz 2000.5

Pleasure to see everyone again, and new faces as well. Kevin and Andrea organised us a hall in Gosford, and it worked a treat. We still started at 12ish, but this time, most of us were still there at the end at five to ten. Highlights for me this (...) (25 years ago, 6-Aug-00, to lugnet.loc.au)

  6087's for $50

I was at Toyworld in Epping today, and they had a few 6087's at $49.95 [from memory] It is possible that other toyworlds will soon be getting more of these...looks like the castle equivalent of the 6975's... Benjamin Whytcross (...) (25 years ago, 6-Aug-00, to lugnet.loc.au)
