  Brickmeet '03 organising [Build/Play/Trade/Meet]

In the absence of our bimonthly Sydney meeting, where much of this stuff would be thrashed out, I'll throw some organising thoughts into the ether and listen to the echoes instead. Please trim the subject line above to reflect which of the lines of (...) (22 years ago, 18-Apr-03, to lugnet.loc.au)

(...) Prizes? hmmmm could think of something... (...) Space flavoured? lol does this include space cakes? and mars bars and milky ways? ;) (...) I'm bringing something along.... ;) It's Australian... that's all I shall say... nothing exciting but (...) (22 years ago, 19-Apr-03, to lugnet.loc.au)

  Re: Brickmeet '03 organising [Build/Play/Trade/Meet]

(...) The theme is easy: it should be sailing vessels of the late 18th and early 19th centuries. :-) (...) If we go with this option, definitely no stats no play. IIRC this is the system we used last year, and was (just) quick enough to keep it (...) (22 years ago, 21-Apr-03, to lugnet.loc.au)

  Re: Brickmeet '03 organising [Build/Play/Trade/Meet]

(...) I don't feel that a theme is appropriate thing to add. It is too restrictive as not everyone has the parts or interest for all themes. Plus some people (like me) are already well into construction of their grand show models in a variety of (...) (22 years ago, 22-Apr-03, to lugnet.loc.au)

  Re: Brickmeet '03 organising [Trains]

(...) Anyone interested in a train layout?? ROSCO (22 years ago, 22-Apr-03, to lugnet.loc.au)

  Re: Brickmeet '03 organising [Play/Trade/Meet]

(...) Ah yes... "No Stats No Play" - I think I've found my new middle name :-) I'm happy to bring along scenery though... did anyone have particular scenery in mind? I was thinking BURP volcano (appropriate, eh?) and alien ruins. Oh wait, does (...) (22 years ago, 22-Apr-03, to lugnet.loc.au)

  Re: Brickmeet '03 organising [Trains]

(...) No Plan, No Layout - more specifically, I would suggest somebody designs both the track AND allocates the space between for scenery/roadplates so we can properly decide who's making what and where it's going to successfully go. Our first (...) (22 years ago, 22-Apr-03, to lugnet.loc.au)

  Re: Brickmeet '03 organising [Play/Trade/Meet]

(...) if your bringing the Mono Jets on Saturday you might want to look into that... Trav (-|-) (22 years ago, 22-Apr-03, to lugnet.loc.au)

  Re: Brickmeet '03 organising [Play/Trade/Meet]

(...) Having thought about it...if there's no exotic items [ie. an item not listed in the rules.] then there should be no trouble counting out the points on the day...any unit/vehicle/item that is non specifically listed in the rules will need (...) (22 years ago, 22-Apr-03, to lugnet.loc.au)

  Re: Brickmeet '03 organising [Build/Play/Trade/Meet]

(...) I haven't actually made any flight bookings but I hope to be around the whole of the long weekend. I'm probably not a candidate for brikwars though. I think the idea of meeting for dinner Saturday night at a central location worked well last (...) (22 years ago, 22-Apr-03, to lugnet.loc.au)

  Re: Brickmeet '03 organising [Play/Trade/Meet]

(...) Well, I will be bringing my entire rulebook so if anyone needs stats done on the day I'm more than happy to help out (...) darn tooting ;-p Trav (-|-) (22 years ago, 22-Apr-03, to lugnet.loc.au)

Brickwars @ BrickMeet (was: Brickmeet '03 organising [Play])

(...) From the replies it seems most people lean towards Space Brickwars, TL6. If you're interested let me know so I can have an idea of how many people to accomodate. There may be a scenario (or some background flubber) too. For those not really (...) (22 years ago, 12-May-03, to lugnet.loc.au)

(...) Mmmmm....flubber...Ahhh...hhh (22 years ago, 12-May-03, to lugnet.loc.au)

Re: Brickwars @ BrickMeet (was: Brickmeet '03 organising [Play])

(...) I'm interested! Now I've just got to build an army... Background flubber is a really good idea. Also post-battle write-ups (like Richard's on the Studs site) are a lot of fun. Perhaps someone should be designated battlefield reporter (or we (...) (22 years ago, 12-May-03, to lugnet.loc.au)

Re: Brickwars @ BrickMeet (was: Brickmeet '03 organising [Play])

(...) Great! I'm keen to go. I'll just have to scrape up some parts to build my army - most of them got used on my feature models. So I take it all of the points limits and stuff discussed will be taken into effect. Zac (22 years ago, 12-May-03, to lugnet.loc.au)

  Re: Brickwars @ BrickMeet

(...) I'd be happy to do a report, but it would be very MUGScentric. But I believe that the MUGS have meet my media crew ;-) (...) due to travelling it is unlikely that I will be bringing much in the way of Scenery. see what I can do though Ah Zac, (...) (22 years ago, 13-May-03, to lugnet.loc.au)
