Re: building a bicycle -- can it be done?

The biggest problem you will find is that each LEGO Technic gear is one brick wide, except for the smallest one which is slightly more than a brick wide. Set up four or five of these side by side and your bicycle is going to look more like an (...) (25 years ago, 1-Sep-00, to lugnet.loc.au)

building a bicycle -- can it be done?

My husband (a keen cyclist) asked me if I could build a geared bicycle with a derailleur using Lego. Your thoughts? Obviously, I will need a fair bit of chain, but the new Power Puller may solve that problem. The cluster will need to have at two (...) (25 years ago, 1-Sep-00, to lugnet.loc.au)

  Technics in the new catalogue

So, Technics heads, what do you reckon about the new catalogue? For a Technics set, the 8458 Silver Champion appears to be more about looks than engineering. Indeed, it looks very similar to the 8445 Formula 1 Racer apart from the colour (I don't (...) (25 years ago, 1-Sep-00, to lugnet.loc.au)

Review of the 5571 Black Cat / Big Rig / Big Truck

It's been a bit quiet lately so time to inject some conversation starters ... I finally acquired a 5571 Black Cat / Big Rig / Big Truck via e-bay. FYI, I paid A$262 (from memory) plus postage. Allegedly it is the largest Lego set in terms of the (...) (25 years ago, 1-Sep-00, to lugnet.loc.au)

Don't forget a minifig with Johny Thunder's hat :) [or the black one...I reckon the brown one would be better though.] Oh yes, the minifig needs blue legs [jeans] and a flanelette torso...Should be a decent farmer :) [I don't know what we'd use for (...)
