Re: Australian Nation Meet, 2005. A hand in the air.

(...) I have just spoken to a couple of 'large' all-type of event organisers who offered some advice. These are the things discussed: First of all, a huge and one main issue (apart from finding an actual venue itself) - PUBLIC LIABILITY INSURANCE (...) (20 years ago, 30-Aug-04, to lugnet.loc.au)

  Re: 2005 meeting name

(...) It *is* an option, because: 1. It's been offered (conditionally). 2. It's (almost certainly) not a trademark in Australia (yet). Although courtesy does dictate using 1 rather than 2 if possible. Cheers Richie (20 years ago, 30-Aug-04, to lugnet.loc.au)

  Re: 2005 meeting name

(...) Actually if the event was 'professional' enough, IIRC, Christina wrote that it *may* be ok, (don't quote me since those emails are at home not here at work). Then we may if needed, try and ask for permission under certain conditions. Thanks (...) (20 years ago, 30-Aug-04, to lugnet.loc.au)

  2005 meeting name

I would like to propose we call this 2005 gathering Bricks Down Under 2005 (aka BDU2005). Anyone got any other suggestions (and remember that Brickfest is trademarked so using it is not an option) (20 years ago, 30-Aug-04, to lugnet.loc.au)

St Sabina's Day at Port Brique (STUDfest n)

It was a quiet gathering at Port Brique for St Sabina's day. We had four grownups and three kids (all six year olds). Newcomer Rob and his son, Lachlan, were the first to arrive, and they had a tour of the lego play room and the new site of Port (...) (20 years ago, 30-Aug-04, to lugnet.loc.au, FTX)

what would you like to see done to LEGO in australia

What changes would you like to see done to LEGO australia and/or LEGO in australia to make things better? Is there anything that could be done to improve LEGO and LEGO retailing in this country? (20 years ago, 30-Aug-04, to lugnet.loc.au)

  Re: Blockfest Downunder 2005

(...) Sydney yes, Melbourne yes, Brisbane, yes Ultimatly, my abillity to come would be determined by the availability of cheap air-fares to the host city (being in perth, flying would be the only way I could get there) around the time of the event (...) (20 years ago, 30-Aug-04, to lugnet.loc.au)

Re: Australian Nation Meet, 2005. A hand in the air.

(...) James I'm happy to support you doing it, as there hasn't been a whole lot of people putting there hand up. Even if a couple of others do (thanks Travis!) it might't hurt to have more than 1 go-to person. (...) I'm certainly happy with a (...) (20 years ago, 30-Aug-04, to lugnet.loc.au)

  Blockfest Downunder 2005

All, My posts on the proposed national meet for 2005 may have seemed less than constructive. They are not intended to be destructive, rather to point out some fairly big problems with organising such an event. I propose a survey, with the following (...) Hello All, OZ LUGS, I'm very happy to help, In the organizing of the TRAINS area. For the event (OZ BrickFest/ ETC). I just think that we should keep the entry fee too around $50 AU.
