 LEGOLAND / California / 371 (-20)
Legoland will be closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays

I just received a letter in the mail today announcing that LEGOLAND will not open their doors on Tuesdays and Wednesdays during the spring and fall this year. Starting January 15th, and going until May 22, with only the last week of March, and first (...) (23 years ago, 9-Jan-02, to lugnet.announce, lugnet.general, lugnet.legoland.california)

Legoland CA + New Years Eve = FLOP

Just got back from Legoland's New years celebration, and as I wait for the wife to get ready for our next party I will give a summary on the events there. Basically, it was a flop, and a very big flop. It was set-up ok, nothing real special. There (...) (23 years ago, 1-Jan-02, to lugnet.legoland.california)

  Re: Went to LLC 12/30/01

(...) The 20% anything over $10 is now over. You as a passholder can still get 10% off non-toy items (books, shirts, etc) if it is a toy, no discount. Tom (23 years ago, 1-Jan-02, to lugnet.legoland.california)

  Re: Went to LLC 12/30/01

(...) What did you mean by the above comment? I thought part of the deal for the Primo pass was 20% off on merchandise? If that is gone now, then that would really be sad. We just got our Primo passes two weeks ago... By the way, was that you I was (...) (23 years ago, 31-Dec-01, to lugnet.legoland.california)

  Re: Went to LLC 12/30/01

(...) Oops! Should have put a bunch of smileys in that comment about Brad. Just meant it as a joke that he should be swimming in free Lego. Jimmy (23 years ago, 31-Dec-01, to lugnet.legoland.california)

In lugnet.legoland.california, Jimmy Park writes: <snip> (...) But isn't it great to know that a higher-up at LEGO is really into the stuff? I don't think it's possible to have too much LEGO... <grin> JohnG, GMLTC (23 years ago, 31-Dec-01, to lugnet.legoland.california)

  Went to LLC 12/30/01

Fairly busy crowd given the cloudy weather down there. Rained hard on the way back home even. Went on one ride - the Technic coaster, which the misses has never been on before. Grabbed our free Holiday Duplo bricks and had lunch in the Castle (...) (23 years ago, 31-Dec-01, to lugnet.legoland.california)

Re: Holiday Pictures from Legoland, CA on Brickshelf

(...) That is correct. Todd felt it would make Lugnet look too much like a marketing arm of Lego to allow them to post outside the lugnet.lego.* groups. But I think the real reason you don't see this is that the Legoland CA employee who used to post (...) (23 years ago, 21-Dec-01, to lugnet.legoland.california)

Re: Holiday Pictures from Legoland, CA on Brickshelf

any events like build-an-ornament or any other promotions going on? i used to really appreciate it when legolandca employees would post events in the legoland newsgroup. that hasn't happened in sooo long.... i can't remember but are they restricted (...)   Holiday Pictures from Legoland, CA on Brickshelf

I have posted some pictures from my recent visits to Legoland, CA. These pictures are of Halloween and Christmas displays at the park. Enjoy! (URL) (23 years ago, 21-Dec-01, to lugnet.legoland, lugnet.legoland.california)

  Re: Legoland trip on eBay

(...) No, you're probably not. Jake announced it in, um... lugnet.lego.announce I think, and Chris Leach cross posted it to market.auctions. Some of us have already been outbid on it. This is an eBay Auction for America auction... (23 years ago, 1-Nov-01, to lugnet.legoland.california)

  Legoland trip on eBay

Am I the only one to notice that LEGO has a visit to Legoland CA and hotel rooms for 4 up for bid on eBay? Could've used this a few months back. (23 years ago, 1-Nov-01, to lugnet.legoland.california)

Re: Ever notice this at LLCA?

if you ask some of the park employees why they stopped making mickey mouse legos you'll probably get a "They used to make mickey mouse legos?" my point is that you can't depend on everyone on staff to know everything that goes on inside the park or (...)   Re: Ever notice this at LLCA?

(...) That seems like an "oops, what can we tell them" type of answer - other than being backwards, only two letters are switched, ya? I still think they messed up, I have been asking for a very long time and have got one of two answers: 1. "Are (...)   Re: Ever notice this at LLCA?

I spoke to a Master Builder at LLCA about a month ago and I asked him about this. The letters are simply put in a random order so kids have to try to figure out what it spells and then, of course, you see what they spell once you get to the booths. (...)   Re: Ever notice this at LLCA?

(...) For LL CA there is a long street/driveway leading to the parking lot toll boths. The letters are along this path. When you reach the parking lot toll boths, there is a big wall, near the passenger pick up / drop off point, that spells out (...)   Re: Ever notice this at LLCA?

(...) So there's no second lot of letters anywhere at the park end of the drive, like there is at Windsor? Is there some point from which you're supposed to view the scattered ones then to get the message? Jason J Railton (23 years ago, 10-Oct-01, to lugnet.legoland.california, lugnet.legoland.windsor)

Re: Ever notice this at LLCA?

(...) When I went to Legoland CA yesterday, I took a very close look at the letters in question, and no, they are not mounted on any sort of transportation device. The MC at the entrance had no idea why the letters where installed that way. The (...) (23 years ago, 10-Oct-01, to lugnet.legoland.california, lugnet.legoland.windsor)

Re: Ever notice this at LLCA?

(...) Legoland Windsor has a similar installation, which reminded me of this discussion. But, if you look closely, you can see that each letter is either on a trolley, loaded on a ballista or catapult, or in some sort of transport mechanism. I (...)
