Re: 6 new bulk packs at S@H

(...) Incorrect. On a scale of 1 to 10, four years ago Lego was a 10 and Mega Bloks was a 3. Today Lego is a 9 and Mega Bloks is a 7.5. So while Lego is still superior, Mega Bloks have in fact become a viable alternative in a quality versus quantity (...) (21 years ago, 24-Mar-04, to lugnet.lego.direct, lugnet.market.shopping)

  Chocolate Lego Bricks?

I've just bought my first sets with the new colours in and the new brown colour is the same as a popular brand of chocolate (candy) here in the UK. As a safety engineer I would be concerned about an increase in children eating these bricks, (...) (20 years ago, 10-Apr-04, to lugnet.general, lugnet.lego.direct)

Re: 4755 - Knight Bus Colours

(...) New sets are more likely to have piece inconsistencies than sets that have been in production for a while, as any errors that are made in piece sorting early on would be fixed as they are discovered. My first two copies of the TECHNIC R2-D2 (...) (20 years ago, 9-May-04, to lugnet.dear-lego, lugnet.lego.direct, lugnet.general)

Re: Different mold on 1x6, 1x8

(...) Snip I believe that the one on the left is a newer mold (entailing a slight saving in material used) and the one on the right matches my bricks dating back to the mid '70s, so it's at least that old. I don't know when they introduced the new (...) (21 years ago, 6-Apr-04, to lugnet.lego.direct, lugnet.general)

Re: Bulk Dark Gray and Light Gray 2x4's

(...) No problem, no harm done, thanks for the apology. (...) Looks like the dark gray has now been changed to 'not available'. I was hoping they'd be in the new colors to support the new colors being in the 2004 sets. Best, Jonathan (20 years ago, 6-Apr-04, to lugnet.lego.direct, FTX)

Re: 4755 - Knight Bus Colours

Wow. I got my first 4755 at the BOGO50 TRU sale today, and it's worse than I thought. I could MAYBE excuse having 3 different shades spanning specific pieces. i.e., all 1x2s are one shade, all 1x4s another, etc. But no, I stacked the 1x2s, and got 3 (...)   Were the first American Lego sets (1961) ever produced?

Jake, I know you are busy, but could you please refer this question to someone who might know. Lego came to the USA via licensee Samsonite (and Schwayder Bros.) of Denver Colorado in 1961. I was also suprised at the small size of the box. I've never seen a box from (...) (20 years ago, 3-Jun-04, to lugnet.lego.direct)

(...) I couldn't agree more! Bring back something from Classic Space, Futuron, or even Blacktron (not Blacktron II), and it would be a huge hit. Retro-future space is very cool and would sell well as LEGO sets! As for fan created sets, I'd like to (...) (20 years ago, 15-Jun-04, to lugnet.space, lugnet.lego.direct)
