I recently received a 3737 and the baseplate was fine. I did order it at
the same time as a lot of other stuff so it was shipped as one of many
things in a huge box. Maybe the warping has to do with the packing and
shipping? (The big box meant I got mine UPS, not USPS.)
Forgive me if this is stupid, but with some plastics I've heard that if it
gets bent due to pressure you can leave it out in the sun and it returns
back to shape. Does ABS behave like this, or is this a recipe for disaster?
I normally make it a point not to leave my LEGO in direct sunlight for any
extended period of time.

I ordered it for the 28-stud black baseplate, as others have said further
down this thread. None the less, I must admit that sets that average $1 per
piece are quite painful to order!
