Wow, now this was a crazy week! This is a week that will forever live in
garage door infamy!
Some interesting info I found out this week:
1. New Mass Customized trains! They were live in Europe, but are now live in
the US as well! Check them out at http://shop.lego.com under the Trains
category.
2. Shop At Home train contest: The judging will occur next week, and the
winners will be announced and instructions will be posted online when the
Summer SAH catalog comes out the first week of July.
3. Service Packs:
OK, lots of info to share. Basically, we are indeed selling older service
packs that have recently been turned up in the warehouses. As many or most
of you know, we have had a number of these service packs in the US for a
while. However, Europe hasn't had any until now. We are in the process of
shipping some of these service packs to the US now. (See below for more
info) These packs are currently being produced, but rather stock that was
not sold from the initial production run. When these bad boys are gone, they
are gone. And unfortunately, the garage doors are all gone. There actually
wasn't as many in stock as first thought and they are completely sold out now.
As far as timing for when packs from Europe will arrive in the US and what
all is coming, that is being worked on fast and furiously. I will post
something here as soon as I know something more. This should be sometime
next week.
Also, I wanted to mention one general note about online ordering through
Shop At Home. In order to avoid overselling products and having to cancel
orders once a product is sold out, there is a cut off when the product
inventory reaches a certain point. (Not sure exactly what the number is) So
if you ever really want a certain product and the online store is telling
you it is out of stock, you can always play it safe and call the Shop At
Home phone sales and check if there are a few more pieces available.
I hope everyone enjoys the new SAH exclusive trains! I know I will enjoy
mine as soon as they show up next week. The prototypes have been teasing me
for way too long!
