Re: 6769 Fort Legoredo on sale at Shop At Home!! —John Neal
(...) lol Richard, Richard, are *YOU* listening? AFOLs are not their market! Why can't you *understand* that? How arrogant and ignorant of you to imply that you would know their business better than they do! For every AFOL, there are 1,000s of (...) (24 years ago, 10-Feb-01, to lugnet.lego.direct)

Re: 6769 Fort Legoredo on sale at Shop At Home!! —Rose Regner
John Neal wrote in message <3A84A90A.F9E7E566@u...st.net>... (...) Well when I rag on the juniorization it is coming from a mother's perspective. I find it pathetic that the target age for the City Center sets are 5-8(?) and my four year old son (...) (24 years ago, 10-Feb-01, to lugnet.lego.direct)

Re: 6769 Fort Legoredo on sale at Shop At Home!! —John Neal
(...) Don't I know it-- I have 2 kids as well. (...) It *is* pathetic. Together, my kids built the 8880 when they were 5 and 7. Of course, I only let them watch the TV 1 hour a week (Star Trek: Voyager), too....;-) That is not to say that I don't (...) (24 years ago, 10-Feb-01, to lugnet.lego.direct)

        Target market —Todd Lehman
(...) John, I snipped a lot of stuff, including where you talked about an AFOL:KABOB ratio, so I get what you're saying, but I want to focus on the above. Richard was making a point about the secondary market and bulk offerings. That's basically (...) (24 years ago, 10-Feb-01, to lugnet.lego.direct)

         Re: Target market —John Neal
(...) Yes, the $64 question. (...) I agree completely. And I think LD's offerings will reflect that. I would love to see the stats on who is primary purchaser of the bulk offerings. I would bet that an impressive share is AFOLs. (...) Without a (...) (24 years ago, 10-Feb-01, to lugnet.lego.direct)

          Re: Target market —Markus Wolf
How do they know who's buying what percentage? I mean, when I buy a set at Walmart or Meijers or K-mart (hooray for BOGO) nobody is tracking who I'm buying it for (almost always me, but I do get them frequently for Birthday kids). How do I express (...) (24 years ago, 12-Feb-01, to lugnet.lego.direct)

         Re: Target market —Ray Sanders
(...) The AFOL market is for sets and for bulk parts. Sets are currently available in multiple venues. I don't see that changing soon. LD is taking small steps into the bulk parts market. I'm still curious to see how far they will take that. "Every (...) (24 years ago, 10-Feb-01, to lugnet.lego.direct)

Re: 6769 Fort Legoredo on sale at Shop At Home!! —Larry Pieniazek
(...) We've already established that he doesn't listen to much and doesn't get much. Now we have him advocating theft: (URL) add to his already exemplary record. You're wasting your time arguing with the clueless when you could be building instead. (...) (24 years ago, 10-Feb-01, to lugnet.lego.direct)

Re: 6769 Fort Legoredo on sale at Shop At Home!! —Richard Marchetti
(...) I was absolutely not advocating theft -- my statement has been misconstrued first by one person, and now by an apparent lemming. Here's gob in your eye, dimwit. XOXOXO -- Richard (24 years ago, 11-Feb-01, to lugnet.lego.direct)

Re: 6769 Fort Legoredo on sale at Shop At Home!! —Larry Pieniazek
(...) In what way is opening multiple packages and rearranging the assortments not theft? If you don't like the assortment don't buy it, but what is the shop to do with the opened packages you've left behind after you fished your favorite colors of (...)          Re: 6769 Fort Legoredo on sale at Shop At Home!! —Richard Marchetti
(...) Well, actually -- I repackage the underwear I don't want so it's identical to it's original packaging except for the color varieties, perfectly fit for selling and I doubt anyone even notices. I do actually pay for the assortments I have (...) (24 years ago, 11-Feb-01, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)

Re: 6769 Fort Legoredo on sale at Shop At Home!! —Aaron West
(...) You know, looking at this as "the consumer who reaches the underwear department after Richard", it would make me kind of sick. The impression would be that someone went to the dressing room with said three-pack of underwear and tried them on! (...) (24 years ago, 11-Feb-01, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)

Re: 6769 Fort Legoredo on sale at Shop At Home!! —Lindsay Frederick Braun
(...) Sans quite that invective, I agree. Yeah, it sucks that they don't make the assortment you want, but it's selfish, crude, and technically illegal to go about opening packages. It's called product tampering at the very least, theft and fraud at (...) (24 years ago, 11-Feb-01, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)

My Underwear Buying Philosophy! (Re: was -- er whatever...) —Richard Marchetti
You know, you guys really need to get out more. You're worried about my *touching* a rolled up undergarment as if I could infect it or something? Let's talk about ladies underwear for a second...most of the women's undergarments for sale in stores (...) (24 years ago, 11-Feb-01, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)

Re: 6769 Fort Legoredo on sale at Shop At Home!! —Geoffrey Hyde
Richard ... In most countries opening the package and removing contents of it would amount to tampering with the box, if you do it while in the store with the sole intention of swapping colored items in that package for colored items you do want out (...)
