When I inquired about the set, a floor clerk did not know what I was • talking
about. But he did say that tons of toys are coming into Walgreens for the
holidays.

So he took my card and a picture of the 4679 box that I printed. The clerk
then passed the request to a manager.

I assume the manager knows more than the clerk about the stock that is
flowing in and out of the store. The manager called me later in the day • and
told me he would hold 3 of the sets in the office for me.

Now when I went to pick up the sets, they were still in the back and none
were on the floor. They had just gotten them in on Wednesday.

I have not been back there since, but I suspect that some Walgreens may be
holding stock in the back in preparation for a total reset of the toy and
Seasonal aisles.

So be persistant. I'm sure that there will be plenty to go around.

And to the folks at Lego - thank you for these sets. The price points for
the TRU, Walgreens and Kroger sets are great.

[ ... snipped ... ]

I found these sets today.  In Ft Lauderdale.  So if you are in the Ft.
Lauderdale area, they are out there!

I got to Ft. Lauderdale a bit early for my meeting today so took the
opportunity and stopped at one store on Sunrise near the Florida Turnpike
entrance and found six boxes on the top shelf..  I bought all six.  I
stopped at another store near University and Sunrise and found a whole bunch
and bought another six.  12 boxes is about all I could carry home on the
plane with me as carry-on bagage or I might have bought more.

My first observation from my stop at these two Walgreen's is they have
waaaay more toys out than the Walgreen's back in North Carolina near my
house.  Other than that, the only difference I noted was that both were 24
hour stores where as I don't think the one near me is but I'd be surprised
if that matters.

(...) Mike, Glad to hear that you finally found some!! Did you notice that the ones you pulled from the same box/store had similar contents? Hopefully you got some variety at the other store. Eric (20 years ago, 4-Nov-04, to lugnet.lego)
