(...) But he is guessing just right. an automatic injection molding machine does not require a full time operator. One operator could easily oversee 20-30 machines, with enough automation is utilized, and I know Lego is very good at that. Selçuk (26 years ago, 29-Nov-00, to lugnet.lego, lugnet.general)

Re: Lego To Close Molding, Processing at Enfield, CT plant

(...) I doubt it. LDMI (Lego Direct Marketing), the main distribution warehouse, is still in East Windsor, CT (about three miles from me, actually).   Pokemon blitzes Lego

This is the latest from BBC. Wednesday, 29 November, 2000, 13:46 GMT Lego is in trouble, and it is Pokemon's fault, according to Eva Lykkegaard, head of information at the Danish toy maker. The Pokemon-craze that has swept the minds of children (...) (26 years ago, 29-Nov-00, to lugnet.lego)

  Re: Pokemon blitzes Lego

(...) Sounds like TLC needs a Lego cartoon or stop motion movie to boost sales. Some of the stuff they have been doing lately seems to be leaning that way. Steve Martin (26 years ago, 29-Nov-00, to lugnet.lego)

Re: Lego To Close Molding, Processing at Enfield, CT plant

(...) I've also bought green (I haven't processed enough tubs). Also, the green 1x6 and 1x8 bricks aren't easy to get in tubs or sets. Also, dark grey. (26 years ago, 29-Nov-00, to lugnet.lego, lugnet.general)

  Re: Pokemon blitzes Lego

(...) <snip> (...) Frankly, blaming their losses on Pokemon seems like a bit of a cop out. Pokemon was just as (if not more) popular in 1999 as in 2000, and they managed to run a profit that year. Perhaps they need to return to the business plan (...) (26 years ago, 29-Nov-00, to lugnet.lego)

  Re: Pokemon blitzes Lego

(...) I hate to post me too posts, but ... Blaming losses on Pokemon may be a good cover for the news and for Joe Public, but if people inside the company *really* think that Pokemon is at fault for their sales drop, they need to get sacked. Lego (...) (26 years ago, 29-Nov-00, to lugnet.lego)

Re: Community to design new LEGO T-shirts

(...) Yes! A MindStorms shirt would be cool as well, even if it just had the programmable brick amidst the "MINDSTORMS" storm background that is used on the RIS box. -Peter (26 years ago, 29-Nov-00, to lugnet.lego.direct)

Re: Larry Tells All... (was Re: Lego To Close Molding, etc.)

(...) I'll add in here, that I was guessing. I was figuring around 5 machines/operator, and a fair overhead/support. For example, if you don't have any production, you don't require _any_ QA.
