Hmm. I saw it in person and I never even noticed a color discrepency. I was
about to chalk it up entirely to digital camera oddness, but my pics show a
difference (if noticably less pronounced) as well:

The 1x4 quarter-round bricks are also a lighter shade. Of course, there have
been two slightly different purple colors for quite some time now. Back when
the Throwbots first hit the scene, the Throwbot limb was produced in a slightly
lighter shade of purple than the purple socket joint. I think that
chain-saw-looking double rack w/ ball joint on one end was also made in the
lighter color.
I've seen some color weirdness that isn't noticable under normal lighting
conditions, though. I've got brown Pohatu torsos that look identical under any
normal light source, but drastically different under blacklight. There's still
a possibility that most of what you are seeing is the wonky color-recognition of
digital cameras (mine can't capture basic LEGO green to save my life), and
there's also the possibility that the pieces you see are not final-production
versions, but only time will tell. As for me, I'll be happy enough getting my
hands on a ton of those new windows regardless of any color change. I have a
Moonbase project that they'd be perfect for, and there likely won't be any other
purple parts to clash with.

| The HP Knight Bus (4755) is now available in limited quantities in the UK. I have two of these next to me as I type ... (...) There is a very, very slight colour variation between the bricks/plates and the windows/curved parts but it could be due to (...) (21 years ago, 26-Feb-04, to lugnet.harrypotter)
