I get that a lot too. If two bricks of exactly the same color are at different angles to the light source, sometimes my digital photos look like they’re two different colors.

In this case, though, I suspect that there are some older and some newer bricks in the display model. Some of the display pictures we’ve seen have used yellow-skinned figs, even though we’ve been told by Jake that 2004 HP releases will all use skin-toned figs, but the display figs were used because they didn’t have the new figs available yet.

In reply to another post in this thread on how we know that the new MF will be in all new grays, Jake has said that all 2004 releases will use new grays. There’s no way he was saying this just as company-spokesman-spin, btw, because this was in one of the threads where he was replying to all the people that hated the new grays.

On purple, do people really have enough purple in their collections that a shade change matters a lot? I’m not trying to criticize, just curious. I’ve got a ton of gray, so changing that is important to me, but I think I’ve got one element in purple, a 2x6 plate that came in Hogwarts (oops, looking at Peeron I see I must also have one 1x2 brick from that set). Oh, and there’s Dumbledore. I see the Knight Bus as my first real opportunity to get much purple. Where have others accumulated purple before this?
