Must...respond....harrypotter newsgroup...calling to me...must reply...to

Thanks Richard.

On the face, I did try to use only pre-existing LEGO designs, just mixed
them up a bit. The hair part is on the kid from Adventurers and the
Soccer/Aquazone dud with the headband (also a Pirate/Castle guy somewhere).
The glasses are like the doctor from Adventurers and the smile is mostly
Timmy (or was it Han Solo, I don't remember). That's the way LEGO seems to
have been doing it.

Amen on the cloaks! Capes just don't cut it.

WoW, that’s a fabulous ‘cloak!’ it's Star Wars caliber… Perhaps in early
2002 with the second installment of Star Wars, Lego may introduce cloaks to
supplement the minifig garb instead producing those ubiquitous black capes.

Oh, and the face is actually really good as well. It will be interesting to
see TLC’s rendition of Harry, but if It’s anywhere near the quality of yours
it’ll be quite nice.

P.S.  The NEW 'official name' of this group is:

OK, so I did this a couple of weeks ago, but didn't have my old digital
camera set up until recently, so here goes...

My take on the Harry Potter minifig.

The photos:

1) Harry as he would be in his Muggle clothing, from the book illustrations,
waiting at the station.

2) Harry at Hogwarts from the movie trailer.

3) Harry on his broom.

4) Harry with his wand (boy, I hope they make a new wand for the sets...the
star just ain't doing it for me).

5) My original Illustrator art for the Harry fig...I wanted to do a scarf
like the movie, but couldn't make it work. Also, note the cloak...it's a
LEGO cape-and-a-half that I made up. They would neve make it though, since
it requires the removal of the arms to make it work right. Also, note the
Hogwarts crest on the chest...just like the movie cloaks.

6) A close up of the face to show the details. BTW, the hair I used on the
fig is the ponytail girl hair piece with the ponytail lopped off. I sculpted
a custom hairpiece out of Sculpy, but it looked just like this when I was
done, so I figured "what the heck".
