In a moment of insanity I agreed to anchor a LEGO section on Compuserve.
It's starting from ground zero and I need advice on what reference files would
make a good initial core for the library there.  I don't want to try and put
up masses of information which is already very well organized here on the Web,
just a solid core of useful stuff for which I can obtain permission from the
current owners of to upload to Compuserve.

I'm thinking of things like a FAQ, an acronym list, a comprehensive set
list, and contact info for LEGO S@H.  What other things would people recommend
to round out the list?  For things like set pictures, instructions,
inventories, and such I just want to refer people out to the great Web sites.
Over time the core library can be augmented based on the interests of the
section members.  (If an owner of any desirable core files reads this and can
reply to give me permission to upload it to Compuserve I would appreciate it!)

The section will be mostly geared toward general discussion of LEGO and
whatever aspect of LEGO that the section members want to discuss and share.
These will most likely be people who don't frequent the Web, so it should be
helpful in expanding the LEGO community to those who otherwise would not be
part of the online LEGO community.  I expect that any who decide to come out
to visit Web references will gravitate to LUGNET, so in that respect the
Compuserve LEGO section will be acting as a gateway for people to find the
large LEGO community on the Web.

Thanks in advance for any input.

Brian

First off, I know this used to be true, and it may not be anymore... I don't know for sure... Make sure that any files you upload to Compuserve do NOT become their property.. there used to be some services that took this liberty with other peoples (...) (25 years ago, 18-Aug-99, to lugnet.general)
