new pictures from the Lego archive Billund —Sven Reger
Hi, today I had the chance to visit the Lego archive in Billund. I just uploaded the pictures I made on my homepage. I had only about 40 minutes this time so I made only a few pictures. I hope you enjoy them anyway. I will add some comments asap. (...) (20 years ago, 19-Aug-04, to lugnet.general, FTX)

Re: new pictures from the Lego archive Billund —Gerhard R. Istok
(...) Thanks Sven for the wonderful pictures of "the vault", Lego's own archives. I was especially interested in 2 photos. The first one is of 1958-59 Named Beams spare parts pack #226 (if it were from before 1958, there would be 8 named beams, not (...) (20 years ago, 19-Aug-04, to lugnet.general, FTX)

Re: new pictures from the Lego archive Billund —Luca Giannitti
(...) Hi Sven, "Tobak" and "Banken" are Danish names. I find very interesting the picture with the "minitalia" boxes (2nd picture from left upper corner). Those sets were available only in Italy during the 70s (see more here: (...) (20 years ago, 20-Aug-04, to lugnet.general, FTX)

Re: new pictures from the Lego archive Billund —Sven Reger
(...) Hi Luca, I think the best method to go there is to book for the Lego Inside Tour that Jake anounced here. I know it is expensive but the hotel is great and you have much more specials on this tour - not only visiting "the vault". I was invited (...) (20 years ago, 22-Aug-04, to lugnet.general, FTX)

Re: new pictures from the Lego archive Billund —Tim Courtney
(...) I find it really interesting that LEGO allows pictures of the archive/vault now. When I visited a couple years ago, I was asked to put my camera away for that portion of the tour. Very cool, just surprising -- I didn't see anything in there (...) (20 years ago, 20-Aug-04, to lugnet.general, FTX)

(...) If it's anything like a REAL vault (i.e. the ones in banks), they wouldn't want people taking pictures for security reasons. :) "Yes, you can come see my LEGO room. But pictures are prohibited." -Bryan (20 years ago, 20-Aug-04, to lugnet.general, FTX)

(...) Hi Jan, these pictures are amazing! I've only one question: do you remember the number of this set? (URL) Looks like a Basic from late '70s - mid '80s, but I couldn't find it anywhere. Best regards Gabriele (20 years ago, 7-Sep-04, to lugnet.general, FTX)

Re: new pictures from the Lego archive Billund —Gerhard R. Istok
(...) Thanks for the great pictures Jan! A lot of AFOLs won't be familiar with some of these, so perhaps I can shed some light a few of them. 1824(.jpg) This appears to be refills to the Danish (only?) retailer brick boxes.      (...) There's a nice article about these cars in this month's issue of "Cars and Models" magazine. I had no idea they were that expensive! I'm lusting after the Karmann Ghia... Those sets are COOOOOL! (URL) Probably a good thing, though. If I (...) (20 years ago, 9-Sep-04, to lugnet.general, FTX)

(...) Dude!      (...) Darrell, These cars come up occasionally on the US ebay but they are a lot more common on the german ebay.          Re: new pictures from the Lego archive Billund —Darrell Urbien
(...) Thanks Eric! BTW, I got the catalog scan from the magazine article; I don't have the catalog myself.    (...) Just a little correction, 107 is a Canada exclusive only (Canada Post Van). There was also a Canada Post Semi trailer as well (probably 108, I think).
