Yeah, yeah -- we’re 5% of the market. Whatever. I have always taken this
stuff with a huge lump of salt. Adult brick enthusiasts mean more to TLC
than just money in the bank -- we evangelize, we create MOCs, we are the best
free advertising they ever had. TLC should be kissing our huge collective
ass!
Instead, we get this moronic color change crap.
I am holding up a single finger for TLC -- and it doesn’t mean I think they
are “number one.” More like a heaping mound of number two...

Every kid I have ever seen in the Lego aisle has behaved in a more mature manner
than the author of this post. And that includes the ones that were bawling their
brains out. What a shameful display of bad manners and ill temper.
In my experience AFOLs are, on the whole, interesting, engaging, sincere folk
who tend toward the pleasantly dorky. Then there is the self-absorbed and
unsettlingly detail-obsessed boor who really makes me think twice about the
hobby (and so there goes the putative evangelical effect).
That said, I agree with the first part of the post that Mr. Weiser’s advice is
not entirely sound. If the variance of colors bothers you, just don’t buy the
new bricks and keep playing with the old ones. If that’s no fun, put the bricks
away. Move on.
