    Animals! —Pedro Silva
Hi all, I know this subject has been under the spotlight before, but with the recent introduction of the Adventurer-OE series I feel there is a need to discuss the LEGO policy regarding animals. No, I don't think they're being mistreated! :-) What (...) (22 years ago, 21-Dec-02, to lugnet.general)

        Re: Animals! —Evan Butzlaff
(...) You know, I think cows would be right with Adventures OE. They are in India, right? People in India think they're holy, right? What's the deal? Is lego afraid that the people of India will think that lego is mocking their religion? Anybody (...) (22 years ago, 21-Dec-02, to lugnet.general)

         Re: Animals! —Greg Perry
(...) I think you're giving Lego credit for a depth and range of thought on a subject that they probably never even considered for one second. Yes, for the part of the world that the new Orient Expedition sets represent, a cow might be considered (...) (22 years ago, 21-Dec-02, to lugnet.general)

        Re: Animals! —Brendan Powell Smith
(...) They've been making one-piece LEGO cows for some time now: (URL) also find one-piece pigs and roosters in this set. (...) If it's a Thankgiving turkey you're looking for, they've also had that available for a few years now. Hard to find, but (...) (22 years ago, 21-Dec-02, to lugnet.general)

         Re: Animals! —Pedro Silva
(...) :-) You got me there... I forgot to mention I meant minifig-scale animals. There is a much wider choice of animals in the DUPLO range, even farm animals - I recognize that. (...) That DUPLO/EXPLORE turkey would probably be sumthin' like an (...) (22 years ago, 21-Dec-02, to lugnet.general)

          Re: Animals! —Brendan Powell Smith
(...) I can see it now! The LEGO Town theme returns in 2004 with the Farm subtheme. Finally minifig picthforks are produced again! And did you say you wanted cows? Then watch out for set 10043, The LEGO(R) Slaughterhouse(tm). It comes with twelve (...) (22 years ago, 22-Dec-02, to lugnet.general)

          Re: Animals! —Pedro Silva
(...) *sigh!* In the meanwhile I just have to settle for Timmies... :-/ (...) It's more like a workshop, no? :-P (...) It's not a choice around here lately. Fish & Seafood are full of "Prestige"... :-( Pedro (22 years ago, 22-Dec-02, to lugnet.general)

          Re: Animals! —Brendan Powell Smith
(...) Ooh! Now you're talking! LEGO could put out a Timmy Slaughterhouse! That would present such a dilemma, though.... do you buy a set that comes with 12 Timmies just so you can send them through the slaughterhouse and feed all your other minifigs (...)           Re: Animals! —Pedro Silva
(...) Actually, LEGO could provide a service of Timmy-recycling: one would deliver the Timmy and would get a voucher for a brand new minifig. This could help solve the Timmy overpopulation in so many collections... If only that container that fell (...) (22 years ago, 22-Dec-02, to lugnet.general)

          Re: Animals! —Kerry Raymond
(...) Well, a recent inspection of bricklink prices suggests that Harry Potter is the overpopulating minifig of the moment. You can get a Harry for 1/2 the price of a Timmy. Harry is ever cheaper than the dreaded Jar Jar Binks. Although there is (...) (22 years ago, 22-Dec-02, to lugnet.general)

         Re: Animals! —Jeff Szklennik
(...) snip I think a whole Farm subtheme of Town is in high order. snip (...) yup...with plenty of 1x1x0.3 round black & brown plates for cow patties! My brothers & I actually used 1x1 round black plates for horse poops in a town parade once! Jeff (22 years ago, 22-Dec-02, to lugnet.general)

        Re: Animals! —René Hoffmeister
Hello Pedro, (...) I'm missing animals too and could be eaten up with envy seeing my little daughter playing with her DUPLO sheep and cows... But I'm working on animals made out of bricks (although, as you wrote, this isn't what you really want), I (...) (22 years ago, 23-Jan-03, to lugnet.general)
