1370 Raptor Rumble Studio: thoughts —Chuck Rex
I receive this set last week. The raptor and pterodactyl dinosaurs are built mostly from bricks, with a head and tail piece. I think it is a bit odd that it was done this way- ever since the first castle set, they have made animals out of (...) (23 years ago, 13-Jun-01, to lugnet.general, lugnet.town)

Re: 1370 Raptor Rumble Studio: thoughts —Hao-yang Wang
(...) The new dinosaurs, with the bodies built either from bricks or from the two highly specialized body pieces, are far more posable/reconfigurable than their counterparts in Adventurers. As 1370 is part of the Studio line, with which you are (...) (23 years ago, 13-Jun-01, to lugnet.general, lugnet.town)

(...) Can you describe the plane more in detail. Like what other plane parts does it have? Does it have one of those plane control panels or just a flight stick? Also is the construction of the plane just like previous passenger plane sets? -Tim (23 years ago, 14-Jun-01, to lugnet.general, lugnet.town)

Re: 1370 Raptor Rumble Studio: thoughts —James Stacey
I do believe they are trying to expand the possibilities of what you can make from them. Yes they look different than the adventure dino's and castle dragons, but it is nice to see Lego tyring to expand playability rather than constricting it. James (...)      Plane? You're confusing sets. The plane is in 1371 Spinosaurus Attack Studio, not 1370 Raptor Rumble Studio (...) -- | Tom Stangl, iPlanet Web Server Technical Support | Netscape Communications Corp | A division of AOL Time Warner | iPlanet Support (...)          Re: 1370 Raptor Rumble Studio: thoughts —Chuck Rex
I did, didn't I? I meant to add something about the other new set I got from the same catalog, the little prop plane with ground crew that is now my fav plane, but I changed my mind, leaving a screwy message. Sorry. (...) (23 years ago, 20-Jun-01, to lugnet.general, lugnet.town)

Re: 1370 Raptor Rumble Studio: thoughts —Greg Howell
(...) I personally like the new dinos. While they aren't as good looking as the Adventures ones, I think they have greater potential for other stuff. Along with the Studios sets there are new dinos in cans like Bionicle. The new T-rex looms much (...) (23 years ago, 15-Jun-01, to lugnet.general, lugnet.town)

Re: 1370 Raptor Rumble Studio: thoughts —Skip Robinson
I just picked up the 1370 and 1371 at my local TRU in Charlotte NC. The 1371 is a nice set, it has traditional construction ( thye plane is very similar to the one from Outback airstrip) and the tree uses brown elements along with a girder ( which (...) Johnathan I can't scan the directions but the two new elements are as follows: 1) 10x10 light grey plate with a 4x4 stud notch cut out of one side and a 45* angle cut out of the other: xxxx xxxxx xxxxxx xxxxxxx xxxxxxxx xxx...xxx xxxxxx xxxxxx (...)      (...) The windows are just black secret door frames with clear panels. The unique plates are 2 10x10 quarter octagon plates in grey (seen before) and 4 4x4 quarter octagon plate in dark grey (I think this is a relatively new part, but some other (...)         Review 1371 Spinosaurus Attack Studio (was Re: 1370 Raptor Rumble Studio: thoughts) —Frank Filz
(...) Based on seeing this, I took a visit to the Cary NC TRU and picked up this set. I have some more comments: First, the plane is not really like the Outback Airstrip one, but has a VERY important feature - trans light blue glass for the airplane (...)      (...) Slightly off topic, but I noticed last week that me local Wal*mart had all of the studios sets on sale (boy I'm glad I'm not into duplo eather, there was one set, on sale...), I'm hopeing they'll soon have new sets, I havn't seen any since the (...)         Re: Review 1371 Spinosaurus Attack Studio (was Re: 1370 Raptor Rumble Studio: thoughts) —Tim Tosino
I'm just wondering if anyone knows what plane in real life LEGO modeled it after, I was thinking it was a Cessna but I haven't found any plane that kinda matches its features. (23 years ago, 18-Jun-01, to lugnet.general)

(...) It is based off of the plane in the Jurassic Park III movie, and it can be seen in the trailer. If I get a chance, I'll ask one of my friends who is a plane nut. He told me once, but I forgot. :) Jeff (23 years ago, 18-Jun-01, to lugnet.general)

(...) I've gotten some still from the JPIII sites and I think it's a Beechcraft 1900C, does anyone know for sure? I think it would explain the stubyness of the LEGO model if you look at a 1900C IRL. Tim (23 years ago, 24-Jun-01, to lugnet.general)
