When building a set, do you assemble the minifigures first or last? Does it
depend exactly on the minifigures?

For some reason my own answer to this question has been gnawing at me as I
put them together last and don't know why I do it. It reminds me of the fact
that I eat each different kind of food on my plate one at a time instead of
taking bites of each in turn.

Perhaps in asking this question I am just seeking reassurance that I do it
the "normal" way. I would like to know other's opinions about this though.

i too have considered this before, i always do them first... it started off as a way to get the pieces out of the mix so they wouldn't get in the way but now i collect minifigs and computers/decorated-tiles so it must have been a subconscious (...) (23 years ago, 10-Jan-01, to lugnet.general)

I pretty much assemble the set the way the instructions say unless there's one part of the set I REALLY want to assemble before the book indicates. But I always assemble the figs first. I buy sets for the main model, but the figs will often help me (...) (23 years ago, 10-Jan-01, to lugnet.general)

(...) I may be the more odd one. I tend to assemble the mini-figs first if they are particulary cool, or add to an army I'm building. I build the main model first if the design REALLY excites me (King's Mountain Fortress recently purchased of eBay (...) (23 years ago, 11-Jan-01, to lugnet.general)

(...) Minifigs are my little girl's special job - that's how she "helps" me put a set together. (She's 3.) I pick out all the pieces for her, plus accessories, and she's learning to follow the instructions to match up the tops and bottoms correctly. (...) (23 years ago, 11-Jan-01, to lugnet.general)
