Play "I can name that piece..." —Robert M. Dye

Hello, all. I was over at the ECDC (Early Childhood Development Center) in the parish today, and asked to quell a disturbance in the LEGO corner. While there (heehee) I found a piece of monorail track (will have to go back and search more carefully (...) (25 years ago, 4-Feb-99, to lugnet.general)

(...) No, it doesn't (take that into consideration). The name comes from a day when I named things more for their modification of a defined element, rather than entire bounding-box approach to size. (...) Now I'm thoroughly confuzzed. :) I thought Jacob said that an LDU = 1/4 LU, which would have been in reference to the LU which means 1/5 of the inter- stud spacing and 1/6 of a standard brick height. So a Jessiman LDU = 1/40 of the standard (...) (25 years ago, 15-Feb-99, to lugnet.general)

(...) Ah. We're refering to two different LU's. A Lehman LU (you brought it up in this thread first) is 1/2 plate-height. So the on-center spacing of studs can be expressed: 1 Gyugyi LU 5 Lehman LU 8 mm 10 Gyugyi dLU 20 LDU I would say the Lehman LU (...) (25 years ago, 16-Feb-99, to lugnet.general)

Yes, the red spoked wheel is from one of the early-mid 1970's sets that came with those wheels. Most of the sets came with red wheels, but some had them in white. They were common in some of the Model Builders Sets of the 1970's. One such example is (...) (25 years ago, 12-Feb-99, to lugnet.general)
