Re: News article about Imagination Centers

(...) If they want to open 12-15 centres, these are the cities I would look for them in (all guesses, though some have been previously confirmed). They are all attract quite a few tourist, and, for the most part, have the so- called "festival (...) (24 years ago, 11-Mar-00, to lugnet.general)

Re: News article about Imagination Centers

(...) I'd add that Edmonton, AB is more likely than Toronto...because of the West Edmonton Mall, not for any other great reason. Toronto doesn't have a 'festive' mall (except perhaps Square 1 in Missisagua), so that is why I would say Edmonton (...) (24 years ago, 11-Mar-00, to lugnet.general)

(...) Of course, I would hope they would open one in Philadelphia. With the Disney Experience coming it might be a good place to put one. Rob +---...---+ | Rob Farver - rfarver@rcn.com | | (URL) | | (URL) | +---...---+ (24 years ago, 11-Mar-00, to lugnet.general)

Re: News article about Imagination Centers

(...) Yes, that is true. However, Disney will be opening up a DisneyQuest Centre in Toronto (as well as Miami and Philadelfia, the latter which I left out). Most DisneyQuest Centres have a mall. Disney has close ties with LEGO. (24 years ago, 11-Mar-00, to lugnet.general)

Re: News article about Imagination Centers

(...) You are correct. I meant to put Philly. DisneyQuest/Disney Expierience Centres are also coming to Toronto and Miami. (24 years ago, 11-Mar-00, to lugnet.general)

(...) I'm glad somebody mentioned Philly. I think we tend to get overlooked, being as close to NY as we are . . . :) -Jonathan (24 years ago, 12-Mar-00, to lugnet.general)

Re: News article about Imagination Centers

(...) I'd disagree.. once you factor in shipping, population and other economic factors Toronto would be more likely to have a center. Toronto has a few festive malls.. most notibly the Eaton Center on Young and Dundas.. expansion is crazy there of (...) (24 years ago, 12-Mar-00, to lugnet.general)

Sounds good Mark, but you missed 4 of the 8 largest population centers in the country, namely Philadelphia, Detroit, Boston and Washington/Baltimore (the other 4 are NewYork, Chicago, Los Angeles and San Francisco/Oakland/San Jose).   Re: News article about Imagination Centers

(...) Well, yes Detroit does have 1 million. But in the metro area (which now includes 5 counties and Ann Arbor), is about 4.9 million (in the top 8).   Re: News article about Imagination Centers

(...) Yah. The place (WEM) is a pit, IMHO, but it qualifies as a tourist attraction, and does pull in tourist $$. If Canada gets 1 LIC, I'd say about even odds for Toronto or Edmonton; if we get two, it'll be Toronto and Vancouver; if three, then (...) (24 years ago, 13-Mar-00, to lugnet.general)
