It's possible that #125 had both door types, but I highly doubt it. I'll
check my 125 box tonight and see. If it did have both, it would show them
being used on the box.
Yes 148 (Red train station) had both sizes in white. Set #400
(Construction Center) was another one that had both sizes, this time it was
yellow doors (yellow was the only classic door color besides red and white
(although there is a Swedish ad on Tore Eriksson's website that shows black
doors - but no set has ever appeared with black doors).
One other footnote, the 1x3x4 (4 brick high) door most often came in 1970's
sets as a 2 color door. The frame and door were almost always of different
colors (red/white, white/red, white/yellow, red/yellow, etc).
This 1x3x4 door is IMHO one of the ugliest LEGO pieces ever produced
(although I also don't care much for the common 1x4x5 (4 lights) door of
the last 20 years).
Good luck trying to find that the origins of that classic door. There are
a lot of sets that were produced up to 1973 using the classic door, and few
up until 1977 when they were finally discontinued in favor of larger doors.
