I have purchased some sets for their parts from resellers.  (Don't tell
me, let me guess, some of you have, too!)  In some instances those sets
were not NIB -- usually at my request, as I would rather save shipping
costs than receive a box that I'll just discard anyway.  (Who are these
people who buy sets, and then leave them unopened???)  To confirm that
all the parts from the set were actually present, I built the featured
model.  This got me in the habit of building the featured model from all
the sets I buy, even ones off the store shelves.  Then I disassemble
them, when my son isn't looking.  :^)
