Re: How LEGO FACTORY can stimulate AFOL interest (and sales).

I agree, transparent corner slopes would be awesome. But transparent bricks at Lego in the past (I know of a few cases) have had their own molds separate from similar ABS parts, engineered for the different properties of the plastic. So it's "new (...) (21 years ago, 21-Nov-04, to lugnet.general)

How LEGO FACTORY can stimulate AFOL interest (and sales).

I was looking at the Lego Factory site yesterday. And like some other AFOLs I was rather disappointed with the Micro Lego scale. I don't care much for those 1x1 headlights (or pigeon holes as I like to call them) used as windows. It is too bad that (...) (21 years ago, 21-Nov-04, to lugnet.general)

  LEGO Brickmaster set has arrived

Just got this in the mail today, well as late as it is I guess that would be yesterday. (2 URLs) Thomas (21 years ago, 20-Nov-04, to lugnet.general, FTX)

Re: How does the voting at the Lego Factory Competition work?

(...) This seems odd. Are you sure it's been that long? I know anything accepted after Sunday goes into next week's competition, and the (URL) FAQ page> says it takes up to four days to moderate entries. I'd bet on your submissions showing up on (...)   Re: How does the voting at the Lego Factory Competition work?

(...) I've submitted some creations for this week contest, I've sent them my signed letter for the partecipation BUT: 1. after rather 10 days my creations are still pending 2. all my creations (there were a couple of normal buildings) were 16x16 (...) (21 years ago, 19-Nov-04, to lugnet.general)

  Re: Shifty set

(...) It's not quite accurate for them to describe all of the sets as "blatant copies" of LEGO sets. Granted, many sets were direct copies, and Shifty certainly copied numerous patent-protected parts, but the Shifty castle set that I bought has no (...)   Re: Lego - Quality Tests

(...) There are many more interesting pictures hidden in there. Have a look at the category "Leadership Team". According to Lego, the team consists of 1. Kjeld Kirk Kristiansen, 2. Kjeld Kirk Kristiansen, and 3. Kjeld Kirk Kristiansen. Maybe they (...) (21 years ago, 19-Nov-04, to lugnet.general)

  Re: Shifty set

Funny, I bought and wrote this... Now I read this: (URL) is just across the waters, 80 km from here. 10 tons, 10000 sets :-) That is a lot! S PS: I will keep the set, in case I have to do a setup/show sometime again. It will go under "bad bad bad (...)   TRU 500 piece bonus bucket question

Can people list the barcode numbers where they have found the dk 4x2 slope with the train controls? The bad news is that the 3 TRUs in perth all have the same barcode numbers so it looks like there is limited choice :( (21 years ago, 19-Nov-04, to lugnet.general)

  Own a piece of Ikros!

FUT Buy Sell Trade How would you like to own a piece of Ikros, and support the website all at the same time? Well now you can own a piece of the legend. In a (few) week(s) or so I am going to start selling limited production run prints of images (...) (21 years ago, 19-Nov-04, to lugnet.castle, lugnet.general, lugnet.market.buy-sell-trade, FTX)

Re: Sort-of-poll: Your most common LEGO dream

(...) I recently had a similar dream. I was in some store, and their LEGO aisle was stuffed with sets that were 10 or more years old. Some of them were ones I'd never seen before (obviously some figment of my unconscience mind). Plus they were all (...) (21 years ago, 19-Nov-04, to lugnet.general)

Re: Sort-of-poll: Your most common Lego dream?

(...) I have also had those dreams of finding a treasure trove of parts. Especially when I was collecting red bricks for my huge red brick house. Numerous times, I would dream that I would go up to my attic and find a box of old Lego bricks left by (...) (21 years ago, 18-Nov-04, to lugnet.general)

Re: How does the voting at the Lego Factory Competition work?

(...) This does seem awfully odd. It's still number one, with almost twice as many votes as the next runner-up. And it's a garbage image. But there's nothing in the rules that say you can't have all your friends vote for yours, no matter how (...) (21 years ago, 18-Nov-04, to lugnet.general, lugnet.lego, FTX)

Re: How does the voting at the Lego Factory Competition work?

(...) This is just silly. Obviously something has gone very wrong with the vote tallying (or worse, someone has already figured out how to cheat!). (...) I wish they did let you download them.   Re: How does the voting at the Lego Factory Competition work?

(...) Not to sound bitter/conspiritorial, but I smell cheating on that one. The jpeg is corrupted (and has been since day one), yet it's getting a huge number of votes. I'd like to point this out to someone in charge, but I'd rather not have to play (...) (21 years ago, 17-Nov-04, to lugnet.general)

Re: How does the voting at the Lego Factory Competition work?

(...) The rules IMO say: 16x16 studs building area. It doesn't mention at which height, so it must apply for all heights, so no overhang. Simply block 16x16xH, where H is height (without limits). If the size limit wouldn't apply at any other level (...) (21 years ago, 17-Nov-04, to lugnet.general)

Re: How does the voting at the Lego Factory Competition work?

(...) Can't see it too. Tried 2 different browsers. I'm quite surprised how it can get any votes at all.   Re: How does the voting at the Lego Factory Competition work?

(...) Yes, except that you can't vote for your own model. (...) That's up to you. If there's one model that is really head-and-shoulders above the rest, vote for that one only. Or you could just vote for all the models that you find acceptable, in (...) (21 years ago, 17-Nov-04, to lugnet.general)
