Re: So, how you feel these days?

(...) Hey, I'm now an adult and I still can't afford most of those! Luckily there have been loads of good smaller sets too, like all the creator sets! In my mind Lego has polarised, there are some set/ranges that are better than Lego has ever been (...) (22 years ago, 8-Oct-04, to lugnet.general)

Re: So, how you feel these days?

One thing I'm trying to do is actually get a project built *before* hitting BrickLink. I often find myself building something - then I cannot finish it because of lack of parts. So I go to BrickLink and drop $20 on parts. By the time the parts (...) (22 years ago, 8-Oct-04, to lugnet.general)

Re: So, how you feel these days?

(...) To me it's like there are now 2 companies, one turning out worse products year by year, and on the other hand a small outfit that now and then comes out with little gems (Santa Fe, engine shed, BNSF, Maersk freighter) I still have deep (and (...) (...) work (...) and (...) world! I hear ya, Brian! My big problem is that I often have several projects running at once, and it's hard to divide my time when they're all calling to me at once! What really makes me crazy is when I have two projects (...) (22 years ago, 8-Oct-04, to lugnet.general)

Re: So, how you feel these days?

No argument about the new BNSF! I'm not even a Train guy but I'm sure I'll pick up a few of those! That new dark green color just looks delicious. Thanks for reminding me about the Land Busters set. I need to grab a few of those for the yellow and (...) (22 years ago, 8-Oct-04, to lugnet.general)

Re: So, how you feel these days?

Funny you should ask. Unfortunately, I have not been able to put nearly the time into my LEGO hobby that I would like. I'm quite dedicated to my family and professional life. I do a lot of playing with my 4 year old & 6 month old girls. We often (...) (22 years ago, 8-Oct-04, to lugnet.general)

So, how you feel these days?

Hey all, Just curious to see what the general mood is these days. Ever since the big change, which I've decided not to adopt, I've found my passion for the hobby has remained pretty much the same. Although it's tempered by less excitement with the (...) (22 years ago, 8-Oct-04, to lugnet.general)

  Legosis Eatemupis

I'm actually not really sure where this would go, so I took my best guess. At the LEGO Roadshow in Dallas (and most likely at all the other Roadshow locations), there were displays of creations by LEGO employees. In particular, there was this one (...)   Re: Building viaducts with curves and bank angle.

(...) Perhaps you could have a SNOT Technique on the sides. You could maybe use hinges for the curves or layered plates and tiles. (22 years ago, 6-Oct-04, to lugnet.build, lugnet.general, lugnet.build.arch)

Re: Building viaducts with curves and bank angle.

(...) Thanks, Ross! I much appreciate the links. Those are some beautiful bridges.. They've given me a few ideas, but my main problems are still related to achieving a realistic look at such a small scale. I've thought of building in curves with the (...)   Re: Wonderful old Minitalia Lego Windows from 1970's

(...) The 4x3 Minitalia window is a single molded part, and it is impossible to insert a glass. Moreover the shutters are a little bit bigger than the normal Lego shutters, you can't change them each others. About those windows, and the whole (...)   Re: Wonderful old Minitalia Lego Windows from 1970's

(...) Having only played with LEGO since about 1983, I have never seen either of those windows before. Pretty neat! On the second one - is the window one piece, or is it a seperate mullion piece inserted into the 4x3 frame? This is one way TLC could (...)   Wonderful old Minitalia Lego Windows from 1970's

I just purchased some old Minitalia Lego windows from an Italian Bricklink seller. Note: it appears that Italy put some construction toy import restrictions in place in the early 1970's, and when TLG could no longer export Lego to Italy, so they (...)   Re: Building viaducts with curves and bank angle.

(...) Jordan, You might want to check out Adrian Egli's bridge studies at (URL) they are much larger than the scale you're looking at, you may get some ideas. There are several nice bridge examples there, including a couple of curved ones: (URL) (22 years ago, 5-Oct-04, to lugnet.build, lugnet.general, lugnet.build.arch)

Anyone interested in having the MHoF?

Hi all, (URL) will have to part from the Minifig Hall of Fame for many reasons very soon. However, since I don't want to see the MOhF simply disappear, I'm willing to discuss with anyone who would like to host it and either continue it or simply (...) (22 years ago, 4-Oct-04, to lugnet.general)
