Funny you should ask.

Unfortunately, I have not been able to put nearly the time into my LEGO
hobby that I would like. I'm quite dedicated to my family and professional
life. I do a lot of playing with my 4 year old & 6 month old girls. We often
play LEGO and DUPLO together. And about once a month we set up all the
trains on a big sheet of plywood that I drag into the kids' playroom. That
is always fun.

Priorities need to be kept in line and individual LEGO projects have
definately taken a back seat.

I peeked into my LEGO room the other night, I have been working on a red
version of Jake McKee's refridgerator train car. But it has sat on the work
table, half built, for several weeks. When I get a chance, I go in there and
put a few bricks on the car. I have to be the slowest builder in the world!

My wife and I are trying to reign in the spending a little bit - as we are
going to be putting an addition on the house. The additon will have an
additional basement for LEGO storage and building. I'm looking forward to
that. And I know late 2004 / 2005 sets are coming, So I chose to pass on the
"500 piece bonus box mania" and see what is coming down the pike.

Christmas is the main "new Lego" purchase period. I think Santa will be
bringing me a BrickMaster membership. That will be interesting.

I'm really looking forward to the new train engine - and I can't wait to see
how the 2005 sets turn out. It seems like things on the TLC front have been
quiet as well. But I'm sure Jake & Co. will soon burst through with some new
bulk program, killer 2005 sets, Legends, etc. Bring it on!

Hey all, Just curious to see what the general mood is these days. Ever since the big change, which I've decided not to adopt, I've found my passion for the hobby has remained pretty much the same. Although it's tempered by less excitement with the (...) (20 years ago, 8-Oct-04, to lugnet.general)
