Re: 2004 Alpha Team: The Good, the Bad, and the Jack Stone

(...) Are you sure about that? They may not be the exact same parts, but the hinge fingers sure look like a match. I'll have to test it though. I'd bet Lego has a patent on the new click hinge finger design, in addition to any patents on the hinged (...) (22 years ago, 16-Jun-04, to lugnet.general)

Re: 2004 Alpha Team: The Good, the Bad, and the Jack Stone

(...) I completely agree with this point, The various click-hinges were cool when I first got them in the 1999 X-Wing set, but they spread like kudzu to overtake every hinge application under the sun! They're versatile, yes, and they have the nice (...) (22 years ago, 16-Jun-04, to lugnet.general)

Re: 2004 Alpha Team: The Good, the Bad, and the Jack Stone

(...) Another thing to remember is that the click hinge "clicks" and therefore means that you can position canopies and whatever else in an "open" position. Which is better for "playability" (22 years ago, 16-Jun-04, to lugnet.general)

Re: 2004 Alpha Team: The Good, the Bad, and the Jack Stone

(...) I bought a MegaBlok Alien Agency set on sale (to compare colors) and noticed it came with a nice old style finger hinge. It works quite well, even though it's made of inferior plastic. So you're probably right about the patent. If so, it's (...) (22 years ago, 16-Jun-04, to lugnet.general)

2004 Alpha Team: The Good, the Bad, and the Jack Stone

Hey all, Much to my surprise, my local consignment shop had the complete theme. After looking over all the sets, I bought #4743 Ice Blade ($10) and #4742 Chill Speeder ($4). The idea seems to be Alpha Team meets Ice Planet 2002 with a dash of (...) (22 years ago, 16-Jun-04, to lugnet.general)

Help identifying 2x8 brick with single hole

In a collection of parts (probably from mid-late 70s) I found a 2x8 red brick that has a single hole in the top/middle of it - between the 4th and 5th studs. The hole is about the same diameter as the classic antenna pieces. Anyone know which set(s) (...) (22 years ago, 15-Jun-04, to lugnet.general)
