  Re: Blue tub 3033

(...) Clearly it is now, since it's priced in Euros. (...) I think they've successfully retired "System" as a product group name. Unlike DUPLO and TECHNIC, System is more commonly known as just "LEGO", so it's not exactly a household name. Dropping (...) (22 years ago, 15-Jun-04, to lugnet.general, lugnet.loc.be, FTX)

  Blue tub 3033

I have never seen a blue tub 3033 in Belgium (has it ever been available in Europe?). I only know of its existence via AFOL webpages (mostly from the USA). Untill know...   Help identifying 2x8 brick with single hole

In a collection of parts (probably from mid-late 70s) I found a 2x8 red brick that has a single hole in the top/middle of it - between the 4th and 5th studs. The hole is about the same diameter as the classic antenna pieces. Anyone know which set(s) (...) (22 years ago, 15-Jun-04, to lugnet.general)

Re: What would be the LEGO equivalent to the new Barbie clothing line?

(...) 10030 fulfilled my fantasies. The first time I saw Star Wars on the big screen I wanted to build a Star Destroyer out of LEGO. I did not have enough bricks to do it justice. The first time I saw an ad for the ISD I knew I "needed" to own it. (...) (22 years ago, 15-Jun-04, to lugnet.general)

What would be the LEGO equivalent to the new Barbie clothing line?

Apparently Mattel is launching a line of Barbie clothes and cosmetics for adult women who have fond memories of and an emotional attachment to Barbie as a toy of their childhood. (URL) wonder what the equivalent for LEGO would be? Kevin ---...--- (...) (22 years ago, 14-Jun-04, to lugnet.general)

Re: Modified Lego and new uses for old pieces.

(...) I've done this with universal joints. The axle holders have a tendency to split, so I used some of the split ones to make shorter universal joints, for a Shay steam engine. I also cut up bent long technic axles to make shorter axles, of (...) (22 years ago, 14-Jun-04, to lugnet.general)

Re: Modified Lego and new uses for old pieces.

(...) Modifying broken parts, which would otherwise stay useless, makes them useable again is something I've done, too. I've had a few 1x1 plates with lightclip where the lightclip broke off. The plates could be reused as normal 1x1 plates, the (...) (22 years ago, 14-Jun-04, to lugnet.general)

Modified Lego and new uses for old pieces.

Although I don't condone modifying Lego, I have to say I don't discourage it either. One example that I use, is removing faces off of Minifig heads. A few alcohol wipes do nicely. I get some nice 1x1 fat round bricks this way. I have already (...) (22 years ago, 14-Jun-04, to lugnet.general)
