Re: How have the new colors affected your recent buying decisions?

(...) Well since I was one of the first people to respond to most of the color thread issues I'll throw my experiences in here. I have purchased 3 of the 2004 sets but, one got traded after pictures were taken, the second one was a gag gift for my (...) (22 years ago, 15-Mar-04, to lugnet.general, lugnet.market.shopping)

  RE: PaB Parts

Since the Lego Store opened up only 55 miles away, I visit as often as I can. The Bomber was a Christmas gift and I haven't ravaged the set for parts (yet) when I got a PaB cup of 4x8 plates, there was a lot of air in the cup, so I grabbed and (...) (22 years ago, 15-Mar-04, to lugnet.general)

  Re: PaB Parts

(...) Um, they're transred, the bomber is black, you have them. Seems like reason enough to me. Did you mean 'for evil reason'? ;-) Peace and reasoning, Professor Whateverly (22 years ago, 15-Mar-04, to lugnet.general)

  Re: PaB Parts

(...) Thanks. I would order from bricklink but I dont feel like waiting. If I could drive I would be in the LEGO store everyday! lol unfortunately Im only 15. I guess I have a couple more years to wait. So either way I have to wait (but I dont (...) (22 years ago, 15-Mar-04, to lugnet.general, FTX)

Re: How have the new colors affected your recent buying decisions?

(...) So far, I've only purchased ONE 2004+ set - the 4492 MINI Star Destroyer. Part of the reason I got this set was because I wanted to see the new colours first hand, but I bought this set mainly for one specific part. I am primarily a castle (...)   Re: How have the new colors affected your recent buying decisions?

(...) It hasn't changed my buying habits at all. I don't buy a lot of sets, and when I do I choose them mainly for the parts selection. All in all, buying sets for parts isn't very efficient so I tend to favour bricklink to pick up unusual parts. (...) (22 years ago, 15-Mar-04, to lugnet.general, lugnet.market.shopping)

  Re: t33ny 3vil skull

(...) I agree; I had intended to get a better camera a lot sooner, and my Lego collection was previously stored in the house in such a way as to make it difficult to haul it out when i wanted to make MOCs, cause i'd have to put it all back (i just (...)   RE: PaB Parts

You only can buy by the cup...but I'm sure there are plenty of goodies to fill in the gaps. I have been using the 1x1 transred tile for filler, I now have a Tie Bomber 60% covered with them for no good reason. (...) --- Outgoing mail is certified (...) (22 years ago, 14-Mar-04, to lugnet.general)

  PaB Parts

Can you buy just like ten parts or so or can you only buy a cup? I need 11 of these from the PaB in Paramus. I was in on saturday but I didnt buy enough. (URL) (22 years ago, 14-Mar-04, to lugnet.general, FTX)

Re: How have the new colors affected your recent buying decisions?

(...) I also bought a new 2004 set (Mos Eisly Cantina), so I have seen the new shades first hand. I also do not like the new brown and gray shades. My recent LEGO buys have been through Bricklink and LEGO Shop at Home. I shop Bricklink because there (...) (22 years ago, 14-Mar-04, to lugnet.general, lugnet.market.shopping)

  I want my money back!

(...) I just bought my first 2004 set with brown, l-gray and d-gray. If I'm happy with the set itself (4501), I must say that I truly don't appreciate the nw colors. I had already seen them before in a project from someone else, but now that I have (...) (22 years ago, 14-Mar-04, to lugnet.lego, lugnet.general, FTX)

Re: How have the new colors affected your recent buying decisions?

Short term, my spending has gone up. I spent a lot of money at Dollar General and on clearance stuff at WalMart and KB - all 2003 and earlier sets. I did buy one 2004 new gray set ((URL) 4492>), so I could see the new colors in person and have some (...) (22 years ago, 14-Mar-04, to lugnet.general, lugnet.market.shopping, FTX)

Re: How have the new colors affected your recent buying decisions?

(...) Last year I spent $11,000 on in store Lego including S@H. Another 2 grand or so on the secondary market. The year before, I spent about 12 grand on in store sets, and around 1 grand on the secondary market. So far this year I have spent around (...)   Re: How have the new colors affected your recent buying decisions?

(...) Maybe it's supposed to be a subliminal attractiveness... they will like the colors better but not realise why? If so that would be a best of both worlds thing I guess. I haven't seen that theory advanced much, if at all. (22 years ago, 14-Mar-04, to lugnet.general, lugnet.market.shopping)

Re: How have the new colors affected your recent buying decisions?

My shopping behaviour hasn't changed a bit. Apart from the odd Technic set I bought (the back-hoe and the 8868 from E-vil-bay), my Lego collection has been grown just like previous years; every minifig-scale set that was brought out, ended up in my (...)
