  Re: Rare part list?

(...) Mike, I keep track of rare parts. The hat you are talking about is not a rare part, but rather exists in a rare color. Black is harder to find, but the truely rare color is yellow. The hard hat only appeared in Yellow in 2 sets. Another rare (...) (22 years ago, 21-Dec-03, to lugnet.general)

  Re: Rare part list?

(...) You can always consult Peeron, but as far as I know nobody keeps a list of rare parts, because there are hundreds of rare parts! Here's the hard hat: (URL) came mostly in Paradisa sets, which are highly collectible. However it was also in Rock (...) (22 years ago, 20-Dec-03, to lugnet.general)

  Rare part list?

Is there a list someplace of all the really rare elements? I just found two black hard hats while I was cleaning up my LEGO table and seem to recall something about that being a rare color for that part. Am I right? ~Mike (22 years ago, 20-Dec-03, to lugnet.general)

Re: While You Were Out on TLC

(...) [snip] (...) Actually, my wife thought that the carpenter and the woman who broke the red bookcase (I don't normally watch this show) seemed to actually understand the labor that probably went into the construction. The designer clearly (...) (22 years ago, 20-Dec-03, to lugnet.mediawatch, lugnet.general)

  Re: Knights' Kingdom figures

Hello! (...) If TLC still made "friendly" sets they would need tons of (cypress) trees. They used to add one or more trees to almost every building (houses, police departments, gas stations) in the old days. Those many trees (and flowers) made the (...)   Re: While You Were Out on TLC

(...) My wife and I watched the show last night. Everytime someone said "LEGOs" my wife just about chucked the remote at the TV. It's not even something that I've discussed with her, but it just really bothered her to hear people say that. Then, we (...) (22 years ago, 20-Dec-03, to lugnet.mediawatch, lugnet.general)

Re: I Just Don't See It

  Re: Knights' Kingdom figures

(...) Snip! You bring up a lot of good points, Douglas. Although others have asked me "Don't you have enough LEGO?" before, I never gave that question a serious thought until now. It's because a) there's a cool new set, or b) like you said, I don't (...) (22 years ago, 20-Dec-03, to lugnet.castle, lugnet.general)

  Re: Knights' Kingdom figures

SNIP (...) I've been thinking about this for awhile. It seems that in the last few years, the number of new molds per year that TLC creates has been consistently rising. For example, for 2004 it looks like they have pretty much phased out most of (...) (22 years ago, 20-Dec-03, to lugnet.castle, lugnet.general)

Re: Now that I've had a chance to see the new colors

Further, I don't think it's a sin for a company to be motivated by the desire to make (...) (22 years ago, 19-Dec-03, to lugnet.off-topic.debate, lugnet.general)

Re: Now that I've had a chance to see the new colors

(...) Yep. With the US being a large market for LEGO, I wonder how much the weakness of the USD is affecting TLC ? I'm sure there are all kinds of hedges and plays to protect the repatriation of earnings, but still. Ray (22 years ago, 19-Dec-03, to lugnet.off-topic.debate, lugnet.general)
