Re: Traumatic Events in the Life of a Lego Fan

(...) No, actually, I think he is right on. This outcry is flat-out hysteria, as we have seen here previously. (...) I can only imagine the hysteria the 9 volt train introduction would have caused were LUGNET around in 1991! (...) You are completely (...) (22 years ago, 20-Nov-03, to lugnet.general, FTX)

Re: Petition against permanent color changes (+ new words)

I guess we gave up on inline replying long ago, oh well. Might I suggest some new nomenclature for the new colors? Something we need to think about when creating a name standard to call the new colors is that the name needs to be as short as (...) (22 years ago, 20-Nov-03, to lugnet.general)

(...) <snip> (...) <snip> The New Coke analogy may well be a good one. In fact, New Coke was chosen overwhelmingly in blind taste tests against both Pepsi and Old Coke. The fatal mistake Coca-Cola made was forgetting that beverage purchase decisions (...) (22 years ago, 20-Nov-03, to lugnet.general)

Harry Potter sets and the new colors

I can't say I'm all that worried about the new colors. The change in brown concerns me more than the greys, but for the most part I'll make do and move on. The one concern I do have is the new Harry Potter sets. I have collected all the Harry Potter (...) (22 years ago, 20-Nov-03, to lugnet.general)

  Re: My Chosen Hobby

(...) Its a good question. I know a lot of kids have the collector mentality with Bionicle. One aspect of consumerism I really don't like, but its life. In the toy business, many other people do it, and LEGO has to do it to survive. If that's what (...) (22 years ago, 20-Nov-03, to lugnet.general)

Re: Why I support LEGO through thick and thin.

Nathan, your loyalty is admirable and stupid as well. It also has an almost german quality. As a German I appreciate that. But I'm afraid it won't do you any good. LEGO isn't the "let's just produce good toys" family shop anymore, it has become an (...) (22 years ago, 20-Nov-03, to lugnet.general, lugnet.off-topic.debate, FTX)

Re: Traumatic Events in the Life of a Lego Fan

Hehe. I sense a wicked, devious mind at work here. How refreshing, Richard. Unfortunately totally beside the point. Galidork and those new Knights doesn't affect anyone posting here. Simply put, it's not really LEGO and therefore noone has to buy (...) (22 years ago, 20-Nov-03, to lugnet.general, FTX)

Re: Traumatic Events in the Life of a Lego Fan
