Re: parts that have only ever come in one set...

(...) Nop, set 6473 (RES-Q Cruiser has 4 of those. (URL) at step 12 here: (URL) only remember this set as it was the first set I bought after I moved out of my parents house and started living on my own. No more sneeking LEGO past my parents! But (...) (22 years ago, 11-Apr-03, to lugnet.general)

Re: parts that have only ever come in one set...

(...) I don't know any other examples but 'we' have a fantastic inventory database (= Peeron) which can tell you that without any doubt. Maybe we can ask Dan to create such a report which lists these kind of unique parts ...... ? Stefan Sanders (22 years ago, 11-Apr-03, to lugnet.general)

Re: Quantifying and Classifying the LEGO Community

(...) Carefull! That's how I got started with them too. Now my collection has exploded into almost every set of the series ;-) But does that make me part of the LEGO community? Probably. But more so does the fact that I _say_ I am part of it. Think (...) (22 years ago, 11-Apr-03, to lugnet.general, lugnet.people, lugnet.fun.community)

Re: Quantifying and Classifying the LEGO Community

(...) LOL - oh what a dork I am! I just tried raising that question in a reply earlier in your post here, without realizing you raised it yourself a few lines down. Glad I didn't post it and make a fool out of myself :^) [1] Anyways... I've seen (...) (22 years ago, 11-Apr-03, to lugnet.general, lugnet.people, lugnet.fun.community)

Re: Quantifying and Classifying the LEGO Community

(...) Hey Ken - Thanks for posting this. I happened across your post first, then Matt's. I was very close to posting a reply I had written to his post, but didn't want to taint the thread with something negative. I think the ideas put forth in this (...)   Re: Quantifying and Classifying the LEGO Community

(...) I have pondered this sort of topic a bit. I have intentionally only read one post here so as not to color my thoughts up front. Only a couple of small points frist on the LEGO 'community.' It's hard to say 'what' that is. I generally consider (...) (22 years ago, 11-Apr-03, to lugnet.general, lugnet.people, lugnet.fun.community)

Re: Quantifying and Classifying the LEGO Community

(...) Isn't pondering the unaswerables pretty much what philosphy is generally about? You seemed to be interested in writing a lot in response to a question you didn't seem to deem worthy of answering. You seem to want to disagree with this post on (...)   The cost of a new mold. (was Re: parts that have only ever come in one set...)

(...) I have come to the conclusion that a new mold costs less than two 1x1 bricks in a retail set. How, one may ask, did I come to this conclusion? Simple, set 4702 Harry Potter Final Challenge. The instructions depicted the turntable wall piece (...) (22 years ago, 11-Apr-03, to lugnet.general)

Re: parts that have only ever come in one set...

(...) These 3 exist in other colors in other sets, I am only interested in cases where a part mould is exclusive to a set (it just seems stupid to me to make the mould then to only use it for one set) (22 years ago, 11-Apr-03, to lugnet.general)
