Re: Need help to guesstimate the size of my collection!

(...) I have a pretty accurate count of my bricks, and I weigh in at 203,000 bricks. At a rough guess, I'd say my collection is a bit more than what you've got in the picture volume-wise. I'd guess about 150,000 is shown in the picture-- and if (...) (23 years ago, 9-Jan-03, to lugnet.general)

Re: Need help to guesstimate the size of my collection!

(...) I would also guess between 100,00 and 150,000 pieces based on the volume of your collection compared to mine. I have a fairly accurate count using the Lugnet DB. Do you know how many sets you have? You might be able to use that to guess along (...) (23 years ago, 9-Jan-03, to lugnet.general)

In lugnet.general, David Simmons writes: ... (...) ... David, I have no idea how to guess with any accuracy, but I agree, 500,000 is probably way over the mark. One metric I would ask for is: how many full blue tubs worth of LEGO do you think you (...) (23 years ago, 9-Jan-03, to lugnet.general)

Need help to guesstimate the size of my collection!

Hey all, If the stars are in their proper alignment, I may be profiled on the show "Ultimate Collectors" for Home & Garden Television! I have a phone interview possibly tomorrow, after which my interviewer will pitch her story to the company. If her (...) (23 years ago, 9-Jan-03, to lugnet.general)

  Re: Understanding Leaks

In the "real world" outside of us LEGO enthusiasts, "leaks" are almost always pieces of information that are deliberately distributed outside the intended audience. The "leaks" discussed on LUGNET are really more like "seepage", i.e., information (...) (23 years ago, 8-Jan-03, to lugnet.general)

  Re: Understanding Leaks

(...) I don't know. I didn't notice something last year. But if it did happen, and they it was banned by TLC in 2002, it seemds very strange that they would have made the same mistake this year. With friendly greetings, M. Moolhuysen. (23 years ago, 8-Jan-03, to lugnet.general)

As much as I believe you Jake (especially considering the official stance that TLC does market studies based on its much larger child market and not AFOLs), you gotta be careful with such responses.   Re: Understanding Leaks

(...) I think this is an interesting point, and it wouldn't surprise me if there were some truth to this idea. TLC knows that Lugnetters, by nature, will (1) seek out any info they can find on upcoming sets, and (2) thoroughly, mercilessly criticize (...) (23 years ago, 8-Jan-03, to lugnet.general)
