  Old Window in new color!

Jeff Stembel wrote: <snip> (...) Thanks Jeff Stemblel and Mark Koesel!! Now it looks like the rare 1x6x5 Windows are (were) available in 4 colors. Yellow (from the old Schoolroom set) with clear window Blue (from old 80's space LEGO) with a (...) (26 years ago, 28-Jan-99, to lugnet.general)

Re: My new lego web pages

(...) Great tank model.(1) I like the ornamental suspension idea - good use of that piece. And the color scheme is surprisingly good, given the limitations of Lego colors. Very well done. And I noticed on the turret inner workings pic that you have (...) (26 years ago, 28-Jan-99, to lugnet.general)

Re: Thoughts on having preferred customers in auctions

Jeff Johnston wrote in (...) This is what I've done in the past and it seems to have worked fairly well. As a rule first I offer stuff to Larry P, then to a list of others, then I'll run an auction (and Larry will bid :) Moz (26 years ago, 27-Jan-99, to lugnet.general)

Re: My new lego web pages

Larry, Sorry, forgot to change the salutation when I reposted to lugnet. The studless rendering was drawn in Adobe Illustrator. Took me about 45 minutes. Thanks for the nice comments. -Michael ---...--- (...) (26 years ago, 28-Jan-99, to lugnet.general, lugnet.publish)

  Pyramids

Copy of a reply I made to a post on RTL: ---...--- (...) Incidentally, while writing Tom on this subject today I came up with the following formulas for figuring out how many slopes it takes to build a pyramid (assuming all 2x2 slopes as Tom is (...) (26 years ago, 28-Jan-99, to lugnet.general)

Re: Thoughts on having preferred customers in auctions

(...) I offered bidders in my first auction a discount in my second, and I think I even did something weird like offer the highest bidder in one a discount on the next one (parts auction - highest amount of parts bought). I stopped doing that not (...) (26 years ago, 28-Jan-99, to lugnet.general)

Re: My new lego web pages

(...) This is lugnet, but whatever. WOW! How did you do the studless rendering that is the "heading" of the tank page? That is very nice looking. (26 years ago, 27-Jan-99, to lugnet.general, lugnet.publish)

Re: Thoughts on having preferred customers in auctions

(...) This shouldn't be an issue at all. I am almost ALWAYS at a monetary disadvantage in auctions, especially if I am bidding against Tony, Larry, Rob, or Gary ;-) (...) THIS one might be an issue.   Re: Thoughts on having preferred customers in auctions

(...) I would agree that this would be considered unfair - regardless of why you're doing it, you are tilting a (theoretically) even playing field, which is one reason people run auctions rather than straight sales(1).   Re: My new lego web pages

(...) <snip> Michael, I was really impressed by your creations. As far as I know, you're the first person to make original Ninja-themed sets and they are beautiful. I can't wait until more of the project is done! Also, you have really good pics up (...) (26 years ago, 27-Jan-99, to lugnet.general)

Re: Thoughts on having preferred customers in auctions

(...) James has a point. Regarding your idea of giving a discount - I can say that I would definitely feel it was as unfair as any other tactic that would drive up the prices in an auction, and if I knew the auctioneer was going to do so, I'd be far (...)   Re: Thoughts on having preferred customers in auctions

(...) Stop trying to tailor reality to fit every nuance of your sensibilities. An auction is the fairest way to dispose of things in return for value but it is incompatible with certain other goals, e.g making everyone happy. Let auctions be (...) (26 years ago, 27-Jan-99, to lugnet.general)

(...) *has a Jerry Sp..puke flashback* (...) Or without reason: if th bidders don't like it, he sells at a lower price or not at all. Ultimately, it's self-interest that keeps auctions fair :) Jasper (26 years ago, 27-Jan-99, to lugnet.general)

  My new lego web pages

Thoughts on having preferred customers in auctions

I'll first say that I have a small number of fellow Lego enthusiasts who are somewhat closer friends than the rest of you [1].
