---GameLUG:
Game LUG is an organization for people everywhere who are both gamers and fans
of LEGO. The specific focus of Game LUG is on games based on the use LEGO
elements. This focus is meant to be inclusive of anyone who thinks the
description applies to them.
Game LUG is merely the temporary name I'm using until we decide on something
better. Some names worth considering are (in the order of my preference):
Play Well
GLUG - Gaming LEGO User Group
GULP - Gamers Using LEGO Plastic (Pieces?)
GALF - Game And LEGO Fans
GLUE - Game-LEGO Unified Experience
GWB - Gamers with Bricks
GWiL - Gamers With LEGO
LGC - LEGO Gamers Club
LOGIC - LEGO Object Gamers International Club
ILGO - International LEGO Gaming Organization
ILGA - International LEGO Gamer Association
Leg Godt
WoLG - World LEGO Gamers
GAL - Games And LEGO
Anyone know the Latin for "with bricks we play?" Would it be "ab laterculi
lusio" or maybe "ab later ludomus?" Or is it "ludi?" Anyway, if we could
figure out something felicitous like that, it might be worth it. Ab later
lusio actually sounds nice -- and might attract attention, but I bet it's not
right.
I really like "Play Well." Is that phrase officially connected to LEGO in any
way?
---GenCon:
Who can commit?
It looks like we have:
Christopher Weeks - organizing and assistant GMing - (all hours)
James Seibert - running BrikWars and Dread Stephen's Pirate Wars (16 hours)
James Brown - running LW:TSV and LW:FBA (8 hours)
Frank Filz - running Evil Stevie's Pirate Game (16+ hours)
I have had a much more detailed and positive interaction with GenCon since last
I wrote. I think that GM badge reimbursement (that's how they're doing it now)
will be no problem at all. They prefer that we submit all events from the
club, rather than from individuals, and as I mentioned before, I think that
presents a stronger presence for us.
Is there any chance of getting skilled and experienced BrikWarriors to GenCon?
Mike Rayhawk would be a fine example of such a person, but I know there are
lots of folks who've played a bunch and would be up to keeping a game going.
Anyone? Anyone? (Buller...Buller...)
Are there any other brick-based games that we can get in? What about
brick-related RPGs?
JamesS, have you heard anything back from Stephen Gabriel about running?
Frank, did you want to contact Derek Schin about his game? Also, I have you
down as a commitment, but what happens if BrickFest falls across the same
weekend?
Larry, when do you suppose you'll know if you're in?
JamesB, are you willing to set up a subscription list for coordination, etc?
Chris

| Hmm, I haven't seen any names that really inspire yet. Some things to consider though: - does it just cover the war type games, or does it cover any brick based game - does it cover official games (such as LEGO Creator) - does it cover computer (...) (22 years ago, 25-Feb-03, to lugnet.gaming)
