NELUG TL6 Modular SpaceShip Brikwars 6/15/02

On Saturday, some NELUGgers converged in Arlington Massachusetts for the first of what will surely be many "Modular" Brikwars games. We had a back-story ((URL) enforced modular compatibility ((URL) a massive list of forthcoming rooms ((URL) and a (...) (22 years ago, 17-Jun-02, to lugnet.gaming, lugnet.org.us.nelug)

Re: Brikwars proposal .. WWII / modern tank battle

Jason, I think we should ask around with WAMALUG since I know that many of them have LOTS of baseplates. Jeff Stemble comes to mind. His baseplate collection excels my entire LEGO brick collection in cubic inches. I will only be able to be at (...) (22 years ago, 13-Jun-02, to lugnet.events.brickfest, lugnet.gaming)

Re: Brikwars proposal .. WWII / modern tank battle

I'd be interested in playing, and it sounds like an awful lot of fun. Unfortunately, I only have a couple baseplates and I don't think I'd be able (...) (22 years ago, 13-Jun-02, to lugnet.events.brickfest, lugnet.gaming)

Brikwars proposal .. WWII / modern tank battle

Hello all, I'd like to propose a theme for a BrikWars battle at Brickfest this year. If there is enough interest (say, 3 players that are coming and willing to build stuff), I'd love to play a scenario that centers around a modern tank / infantry (...)   Re: d20 BrikWars

(...) I would actually have to say that, to me, the d20 combat system seems to have about the right amount of detail. There are enough rules that make tactics seem worthwhile, without too many minor details to necessitate having to consult the (...) (22 years ago, 31-May-02, to lugnet.gaming)

  Re: d20 BrikWars

(...) I'm not sure more complex combat systems are really the way to go. While I feel a combat system needs enough detail to make combat interesting, too much detail makes combats take too long.   Re: d20 BrikWars

I know a lot of people have reservations about the d20 system. It is far from perfect, and has its own peculiar brand of illogic (hey, paladin, why dont you put on the sorcerer's Cloak of Charisma so you can heal more damage) but still manages to do (...)   Re: d20 BrikWars

(...) I think I agree with your analysis. (...) I'm still mulling about the idea of a brick oriented RPG, but I really feel like staying away from D20. If D20 was being published similar to GURPS where you have a genre agnostic core rule book and (...) (22 years ago, 31-May-02, to lugnet.gaming)

  d20 BrikWars

I'm probably the last one to hear about this, but I just got a nice long e-mail from a guy named Jeffrey Schecter that clued me in to this thing Wizards of the Coast is doing, essentially giving free license to any Joe off the street to use Dungeons (...)   The kernel of a new game -- All Brick Stories

Hi all, I'd been playing with some ideas for an in-depth RPG based on LEGO. Then Frank Filz posted the note at (URL) which started a good thread on LEGO RPG issues.   Create an Island using the Container Lid from one of the $10 LEGO Dinosaur sets

I couldn't get my dinosaurs to stand securely to the box lid.   Re: RPG or PBM? (Was: Elements of a brick oriented RPG)

RPG or PBM? (Was: Elements of a brick oriented RPG)

(...) This is a cool idea, but does it neccesitate no character advancement? Is the goal to just get away from the traditional RPG aspects, to simplify the rules, or something else? Would having both advancement mechanisms work? (...) So, the idea (...) (22 years ago, 20-May-02, to lugnet.gaming)
