Trying to find a brickworld 2008 attendee...

Hi there, I'm trying to find someone from Brickworld 2008. I don't recall his name, but here's what I remember. 1) He was seated to the right of Brickarms. 2) He was from Chicago, specifically the Pilsen neighborhood. 3) His display consisted of (...)   Re: Brickworld Pick-a-Brick quality

(...) Please excuse my ignorance, but what is a "false brick"? ROSCO (18 years ago, 16-Aug-08, to lugnet.events.brickworld)

  Re: Brickworld Pick-a-Brick quality

(...) I didn't get any funky colors in my P.A.B. from Brickworld; but I didn't get any 1X1 plates at all. However, I did notice some non-color quality issues with 1X1 False Brown bricks. I got some of the 1X1's in the Northbrook P.A.B. on Friday, (...) (18 years ago, 16-Aug-08, to lugnet.events.brickworld)

Re: Worm gear... whence the length?

(...) Hi Brian, If you're struggling with worm gaps for your leadscrew, this pic of my crane worm gearbox might help: (URL) worm is two worms long, plus two pairs of old type (crennellated) half bushes (small pulleys) and an old type 14-tooth bevel (...)   Re: Worm gear... whence the length?

(...) That would make sense, but for the fact that the worm gear is ten years older than the gearbox that you cited. The only reason that the worm gear had to be made a tiny bit less than 2 studs long was so that when you put it between two TECHNIC (...)   Re: NXT-G print to text?

(...) Nice defense! I'm sure the NI engineers have anticipated the complexities you've mentioned. Hence, no scary print-to-text. However, I'm not asking for anything so ambitious. I hold that a print-to-text within the context of plain NXT-G (no (...) (18 years ago, 21-Jul-08, to lugnet.events.brickworld, lugnet.robotics)

Re: Worm gear... whence the length?

(...) The number of thread has to be an integer. If not, you could not been able to use multiple worm gear on a same axle. And the thread pitch is determined from the straight gears pitch. (which is something like nPi/m studs (n,m being intergers). (...) (18 years ago, 19-Jul-08, to lugnet.events.brickworld, lugnet.robotics)

  Re: NXT-G print to text?

(...) Obviously, NI is so confident they've reached their design goal: that every 9 year old should be able to program in NXT-G without calling tech support. In my classes, 9 and 10 year olds blow through such a low level of expectation within an (...) (18 years ago, 19-Jul-08, to lugnet.events.brickworld, lugnet.robotics)

  Re: NXT-G print to text?

Re: ONLINE LEGO NXT INTERFACING WORKSHOP
