 Dear LEGO / 4582 (-10)
  Re: New Technic crane

(...) Lego doesn't deserve to get respect from any people. People have said polite things over the course of the years and Lego is just not listening. Drastic measures should be taken!!! I agree with the other people...why did Lego ruin a perfectly (...) (21 years ago, 5-Feb-04, to lugnet.dear-lego)

  Re: New Technic crane

<snip> (...) <snip> Can we please stop with the 'another example of Lego's problems' already. "Oh my newly purchased Lego set had the instructions folded wrong! Just another example of Lego's problems!" If you (general you, not directed at poster (...) (21 years ago, 5-Feb-04, to lugnet.dear-lego)

  Re: New Technic crane

Steven makes an excellent point here. The Bionicle hook could not be more out of place. It looks ridiculous on an otherwise nice looking design/model. As for the color issue, I will beat that dead horse a bit more. There is a significant quantity of (...) (21 years ago, 5-Feb-04, to lugnet.dear-lego)

  New Technic crane

Dear Lego I think you've made a big mistake on the new crane truck using a bionicle hook rather than the metal Technic hook that already exists. (URL) spoil the look of a set for the sake of one part? Seem's to me like just another example of Lego's (...) (21 years ago, 5-Feb-04, to lugnet.dear-lego)

Re: New Skin Tones coming? (was: Re: Scans from new danish 2004 catalog)

(...) Even the hardcore Star Wars LEGO fans are undecided about the Lando fig being "realistic" and not yellow. I like like the fact that minifigs are free of race and any move to change that only hurts the brand. LEGO has lost their focus. They can (...) In lugnet.dear-lego, John Heins wrote: <snipped lots of stuff that I agree with...> (...) Actually, the prices LEGO charges in their by-weight locations have proven to be somewhat higher than the Pick-a-Brick cups, even if you don't pack the cups. (...)   New Grays and bulk bricks

Having seen the "new" grays for the first time, I'm not that annoyed with the "light" gray color. The variation is "cooler" than the old light gray but not that different. Just as older light grays exposed to sunlight take on a slightly "yellowish" (...) (21 years ago, 4-Feb-04, to lugnet.dear-lego)

Re: New Skin Tones coming? (was: Re: Scans from new danish 2004 catalog)

(...) Oops--my cynicism is showing, alas. All too often, it seems, corporations like to pretend that their biggest changes are entirely driven by internal decisions made in a vacuum; they seldom if ever acknowledge that a competitor's practices are (...)   Re: New Skin Tones coming? (was: Re: Scans from new danish 2004 catalog)

(...) Well, I would assume this-- what else would motivate change? "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" (and, of course, it's cheaper to do nothing), and perhaps the concept of all yellow figs isn't necessarily "broke", but perhaps profits are. Perhaps (...)   Re: New Skin Tones coming? (was: Re: Scans from new danish 2004 catalog)

(...) Out of curiosity, does anyone suppose that TLG's decision to move toward flesh tones might have been, at least in part, motivated by the fact that successful competitor brands have been marketing flesh-toned figures for years? This, coupled (...) (21 years ago, 3-Feb-04, to lugnet.general, lugnet.dear-lego, FTX)
